I'm wondering what a good rule of thumb is in terms of texting following a first date? Do you guys give it a day or so? Or text the next day?

For my own context - the girl I recently went on a date with texted me that night to say she got home safe, and I texted back saying cool, was nice to meet her etc., should I wait until she replies or open start a new convo with her etc.?
