I text back right away. I don't have the time or patience to time my texts. I don't want to have all day text conversations with a girl. If a girl texts me and I'm available I just text her right back. A person who actually has shit to do in their life doesn't have time to wait every 45 minutes to send a text.

The whole point of "waiting" in between texts is to not look over-eager and over-invested. Here is a better way to not look over-invested. When she texts you respond to whatever point she is making and then respond with a text that doesn't invite or imply a further response. If a girl texts you "Hey I got the job" I text back "Congratulations! So happy for you." That way I'm being polite but I'm also showing her that I am not trying to have an all day conversation with her. I also don't put a pressure on her to continue the conversation. If she keeps pushing the conversation I just say "Hey I have to go, I am doing X right now, I will call you later." And then I call her whenever I fucking feel like it.

Set it and forget it. I text back right away if I'm not busy, but I don't expect people to respond in any kind of timeframe. Just text whenever you have a spare moment and don't worry about it.

This is one of those things you really have to commit to in one direction or the other. Either text relentlessly and satisfy the tenet of persistence or don't text and all and capitalize by having her risk loss. Either of those will work well.

Well, what are you doing when you get the text? I think that's the important question. Let me tell you a story:

A friend of mine had major oneitis for this girl. Let's call my friend Blake and the girl T. Blake was the definition of a wussy guy for a long, long time. It was finally near the end of college where he started to listen to my advice. I told him to try out an experiment. Every time T texts you, do these things in order: First, read the text. Next, PUT YOUR PHONE DOWN, and go back to what you were doing when you received the text. When you come to a natural stopping point, then finally, respond to the text. It just so happened that at this time he was playing some RPG on xbox. She texts him. Blake puts down the phone, returns to his game. Gets to a natural stopping moment (about 5 minutes later), and responds. She texts him back and he repeats the process. After 2 back-and-forth texts, it gets to the point that she is texting him back before he can even set his phone down. It's the weirdest thing, but if you leave a chunk of time between her text and your response, you'll notice her responses coming in faster and faster. You can literally be doing something as unimportant as playing an RPG and the gaps in time will still make her think that whatever you are doing is more interesting than her.

People spend a lot more time worrying about this than they need to. Timing is a lot less important than content. Not that you should be doing work trying to "seduce" a lady via text. The main thing is not to shoot yourself in the foot. Keep things short and to the point.

It seems as though there are two schools of thought, with your opinion aligning with the less popular one (not saying you're wrong). I personally have a threshold for how much BS I will take from a girl before I next her. Sure, I game her a little and wait some time before responding, but if she consistently waits three hours or overnight then I delete the contact. Next.

I understand the concept of not texting a girl in between dates, but my situation is a tad different. She lives in town an hour away from me and she comes here on weekends to visit mutual friends. The one friend of ours we are both close to so she has been telling me things this girl has been saying relative to the subject of me wheeling her. I will most definitely see her this weekend by either going to a party or just by hanging out with said friend. I met her once last weekend and ya know did my thing. So I'm asking if I should continue the cute banter and what not and just run into her? Or should I make plans to actually hang out with just her and quit texting after making said plans?
