I only do it if they're obviously into me. If they're just being friendly and not flirtatious, I don't bother. There are better avenues for asking people out.

You are only creepy if she rejects you and you never let it go/ persist on asking.

In the times I've been hit on over the years by customers while working, it usually comes off as creepy or uncomfortable, and would make me feel unprofessional if I went along with it.

This is exactly why you don't ask people out when they're on the clock. I won't say it's necessarily creepy, but it does make a lot of people uncomfortable, and it's kind of rude. You say "served" so I'm going to assume the person you're trying to pursue is a waitress/server. These people work for tips, so you could be completely misreading.

"I've gotta go meet up with a friend, but id really like it if you gave me a way to contact you:-)". She will eithet say yes or she will say no. Either way, you have lost nothing. DGAF.

tried and tested? There's no tried and tested anything, it all depends from the combination of one's personality and the particular situation.

However there's value in sharing of experiences in here, so that we can all get some inspiration.

I have tried connecting with women at their place of work a few times, let's say 5 times in total, and twice I was successful in making a connection and then meet up:

Situation #1: local bar, I used to go there with a buddy once a week during off days like Monday; go to befriend the stuff there, and one particular female bartender was cute, and seemed to flirt back with me genuinely interested. So one day upon leaving I discreetly slipped my business card and told her (still very discreetly): it's hard to talk with you in here, call me so that we can have coffee one of these days. She called, went for coffee the day after, nothing else happened.

Situation #2: traveling, went with a fiend to a coffee shop and the girl was really cute. There was nobody in the store, so we chatted for a few minutes, flirted, did some very basic kino, then I asked her when she was getting off work (5 PM) and that she should hand out with us that evening and gave her my phone #. She did call, f-close that night.

I'd say be discreet, if she's pretty and she works in retail, she gets hit multiple times, be different, make sure she has if not an attraction to you a liking, then tell her something like I never do this, and I am sure that a lot of guys do this to you, but... this is my number, Just call me maybe? (you know in the tune of). The point is that you are not pushy-creepy, make your best offer, she's in control of her own actions.... if she calls... she's interested.

first question is how much are you willing to spend?

you can hit on some that is working the only thing is that you have to visit that establishment frequently. If you plan on getting the number on the first try, it is nearly impossible because unfortunately most guys will come off creepy

I remember working at this restaurant there was this server there that would get hit on by every guy that sat in her section they would try,and try and try but never get her number. But there was this one guy that always ate there and always would flirt with her. One day he just walked in and asked her out she said yes, they then dated for 8 months (before he cheated on her).

What I'm trying to say here is that it takes more then one visit and a 8 dollar tip to try to seduce a girl on the job. She needs to be comfortable with you before you ask for her number. Just like seduction same rules apply. The only difference here is, a bartender/retail/severer gets hit on my a bunch of dudes a day so you have to make yourself stand out.
