I approached a girl of interest after observing for a good moment since she was with her friend group. The light conversation went well, but when her friends stepped in with drinks, her attention shifted. I didn’t get good vibes from her friends, which instinctively made me pull back from engaging with them. I was more focused on her and didn’t pause to think about the bigger piece, which was the group dynamic. They moved to another spot and she asked if I wanted to go dancing. I followed, but she didn’t really engage, so I asked for her number to stay in contact. Reflecting now, I see what I could’ve done differently and I’m deciding whether or not to text her.
