Think about your motivations for talking to girls. You're not hiding anything. You're still going to be nervous at first, but the more girls you talk to, the easier it will be and the more natural it will feel. Don't worry about the outcome too much at first. Try, learn, repeat. You have lots of opportunity. Every conversation doesn't have to be awesome.

Hate to tell you this. There is no surefire way to get over AA. We've all been there, its uncomfortable at first but gets better. Even when you KNOW you can pick up the girl, its still a HASSLE to do so unless she fits an ever growing list of exclusive parameters. The better you get, the more selective you become, the less women fit your parameters. Personally, I am down to 5'3" natural redheads ( daywalkers only ) who went to Catholic school. That is about .001% of the population but I live around, literally, millions of people so its not impossible to find consistently. EDIT: Stop trying to find an easy solution and just keep trudging through the negative emotions, you'll become desensitized eventually.

Take small steps first. Make eye contact and smile, then keep doing whatever you were doing. Then you can just say "hi" or "how is it going." Once you feel comfortable saying hi take some more steps forward and start having longer conversations.

One technique that's been recently posted to get over AA is to just think about a funny situation that could happen if you approached. Whatever it may be just think of thoughts that are funny to you and start giggling a bit and smiling. Once you do this your fame will shift and it'll be easier to approach

Obviously you'd be more comfortable around guys since you don't want to get in their pants and you're outcome independent (you don't care if they like you or not).

To overcome this here's a little mental trick. Tell yourself that you're going to make a fool of yourself in front of the girls and make it a really positive thing. Tell yourself that you're going to get rejected and that you WANT to get rejected. Try to get rejections every day. Once you've done this you're no longer going to be afraid of talking to girls and you'll have no more anxiety.
