Op the game is if she’s interested in you then she’ll go out of her way to show you her level of interest. She will do things that she wouldn’t normally do with routine customers. For example, she will pass you her number through a co-worker, or even risk her job herself & pass you her number in front of people. Another example is conversation. Pay attention to conversation. If she comes by your table asking where your gf is? or hinting about getting off a certain time or asking what your plans are after you leave. Then you may be in position to talk or approach her on a personal level. Until then it sounds like she’s just doing her job & doesn’t give a fuck about you being in the room. So why waste your time by chasing a chick that has no idea you like her?

As a female server, I agree with those who say just act like a normal human being. Nobody wants your lines that you think are witty and funny. We have literally heard EVERYTHING and they are never funny. We will laugh because we want your money.

Act normal. Don’t be a douche. I cannot stress this enough- DO NOT TOUCH HER. Be nice. Leave a nice tip (anything less than 20% and you definitely won’t get a phone call) and your phone number. Don’t ask for her number. Don’t come back and hound her or ask for her again if she doesn’t reciprocate.

Be genuine.

And if you keep getting upset about people’s responses in this thread, maybe just don’t do it at all.

Don't confront her face to face. She is at her job and has to act professional so this will put her in a really uncomfortable situation. Leave a good tip and your number and if she's interested, she'll text or call. Just don't be a creep to someone at work please.

See what I mean? it’s better to be chosen than to be the one chasing because if their not showing mutual interest then chasing them only makes us look creepy, gets us friend zoned & makes us the topic of family conversations and the butt of their friends jokes .. fuck that shit!!

However if you wanna deal with all that .. then do the classic approach & say “excuse me, what’s your name? & do you mind if i get your number?” and watch how it goes ..

Funny thing is, (and I’ve experienced this first hand), it’s completely a double standard for women hitting on male servers. Women will slip you their numbers on the receipt or a napkin, and if you flirt A LITTLE while serving them, (I stress a little, don’t lay it on thick), they appreciate it SO MUCH.

She’s literally being paid to be nice to you, so no matter what terrible line you end up using she’ll laugh at it politely so she doesn’t risk her tip. Then she’ll tell her colleagues how uncomfortable you’re making her, and at the end when you ask for her Facebook she’ll politely decline then make sure the manager is aware of your complete overstepping for next time.

If you say something like that, it’ll just make her not want to be around it. Just be nice, polite, and courteous. She doesn’t want another douche bag table. She wants a table where they are nice and understanding. If you say that she will just be annoyed every time she has to go to your table and will dislike you even more every time you utter a word. Don’t be a dick.

I went to a little diner by my work for years. NEVER pulled that nonsense. I was just always kind and left the same 15 percent tip every visit.

I was 30. One of the servers invited me to go watch tye fireworks at the beach. No problem. Am single. She leans back to use me as a chair and says "we should hook up." I thought that meant 'hang out." I lived under a rock. So I just said sure and went about my life. She called me a few times a week. She was 19, and I was not about to pursue someone so young.

Eventualy I wind up at a party and young server's older coworker is there. We speak friendlyspeak and then WHAM. Her hands are down my pants and I'm begging her to maybe find a more private place.

So I go back to diner and get death glares from younger. I was an idiot and could not figure this out. Older comes over and asks if anything was up between me and younger. 'No fucking way- she's too young." I say.

Older says no, younger isn't too young, and she told me that she made it very clear to you that she liked you. This is how I learned what "hook up" meant.

I met and befriended current wife during this and told her all about this mess. Current wife was not down with me hanging out with either of the servers, and that is how I learned that she liked me.
