Social skills are the fundamental part. Most guys don’t really have problems picking up girls if their social skills are decent. Maybe just some hints here and there, or needing a bit of input from their fellow friends guys and girls alike.

But for guys who are sheltered, extremely introverted, nerds, it’s surely an uphill battle. Look at the guys that participated in PUA show more than a decade ago. They don’t even know how to ask direction from a random guy out there, let alone picking up a hot girl. Or when they go to a club they just sit in the dark corner watching people drink and dance.

Then you tell them “it’s easy bro. Just talk.” Like how? These people even barely talk on daily basis. To make it worse, you tell them “just be confident!” How can you be confident at something you know you’re not good at?

Not everyone has the same level of social skills. If you’re talking to someone who already has decent social skills, it’s very simple: just say “go for it, bro,” or give him a little push and he’s ready. In that case, there’s really nothing to explain.

Take the example of RSD teachings or any “natural” teacher: they always assume the reader already has strong social skills. For that reason, you don’t need to learn anything, no push‑pull, jokes, qualifying / disqualifying, frames… nothing. It all comes down to the classic phrase: “be yourself.”

However, that kind of book/product is a very poor example when the person has weak social skills. The advice above won’t work. They need guidance, specific things to do, things to say, and step‑by‑step support just to move forward. Now things get a bit more complicated, because you need to learn a few essentials, some gambits, a few openers, and certain concepts, etc... It’s no longer about “just be yourself” or “it doesn’t matter what you say”, at this stage, what you say matters a lot.

On a scale from 1 (extremely low social skills) to 10 (perfect social skills), where would you place yourself? Only then is it possible to make a progress.

You're right that it's not complicated. It's about approaching until you approach the girl who is attracted to you. From that point you just need to show your interest, verbally and physically. Always be leading. Escalating.

Be your best self, be a good active listener and don't lie, manipulate or deceive. Project and conduct yourself as you are and not in a calculated manner that you think would be fine tuned for that person. Maintain your core goals, beliefs and integrity and don't be afraid to disagree as you can always seek middle ground. Believe in yourself that you can do it. You can display confidence without being arrogant.
