One of my biggest stumbling blocks (and for a lot of other people I see) is not knowing with enough confidence whether the feelings are mutual and therefore being hesitant about escalating because you don't want to get the cold cheek when you go in to kiss them or even worse, escalate with them and then hear that you've been accused of being a pushy creep. It's impossible to know 100% until you try but I want to get better at picking up the signs.

Besides obvious stuff like them laughing excessively at everything you say, touching you or moving closer to you what are some sort of less obvious signs that you're probably good to go ahead and escalate things?

How to escalate is another story but if I was better at reading the room it would definitely help with the whole process

Also what are some general indicators that someone is happy to be approached? Would you approach someone if you hadn't made eye contact or if they had closed off body language?
