Lots of guys were asking about the field report from this weekend in NYC when I stole and pulled RSD Todd’s girl. So, here it is: Disclaimer: I changed the names of the people involved I went out with my buddies, Matt and Brian, to the meatpacking district at around midnight. It was Brian’s birthday; so the plan was to party together and see where the night goes.

There were only 3 rules: 1. No logical business/work talk 2. No doing pickup or trying to pull 3. Anyone that brought up logical conversation had to immediately shout the word “dick”

We had a kickass time and had multiple girls down to pull without even trying. It was a nice reminder of how charismatic we all become the moment we stop giving a fucks about any outcome. Skipping ahead to 2:30 a.m. when I bumped into the RSD boot camp hosted by Todd and Tyler. My buddies and I were at the venue only to get celebratory drinks, but I decided to approach one of the girls on the periphery of the RSD crew anyway. (Not because she was especially hot. She wasn’t. I was just fucking around). Kelsey (the girl) instantly hooked, apparently because we met a couple weeks prior. I didn’t remember her right away, and I was even under the impression that she didn’t like me when we first met because I told her about how my friend and I are going to end to her career’s entire industry with his tech start up. I was wrong about how she felt. Apparently she really liked me. I noticed Todd hovering over us listening into our conversation, and I wasn’t sure why. I suspected that maybe she was his girlfriend or a friend of RSD’s, so I began asking questions to understand the situation better. Suddenly, Todd opened Kelsey and tried engaging her, but I took her by the hand and lead her a few feet away the moment I realized they didn’t ‘know’ each other.

(The funny thing about moving a girl just a few feet over is that it can really fuck with someone’s head way more than if you left with the girl completely because now he has to stare directly at his failure from just a few feet away. Also, had I been more interested in Kelsey, I probably would have tried pulling her right then altogether, but I wasn’t, and I was only there just to have a good time and celebrate anyway).

Moving her away got rid of Todd temporarily, but Tyler’s girlfriend took a shot too a few minutes later. Instead of being chilled and blowing me out by being more fun and normal than I was, she weirded her out by being way overly flirtatious and gamey. I used the red flags Tyler’s girlfriend sent to Kelsey’s mind as an excuse to move, and lead head by the hand another few feet, leaving Tyler’s girlfriend standing there awkwardly.

Kelsey and I spoke for another 5-10 minutes before Todd reapproached. I don’t remember too many specifics of what was said, but I do remember that he sounded very rehearsed (kind of like bad acting), spoke in monotone, and that he implied they had history by telling me, “There’s more to the story than you know.” (I found out later that he apparently pulled Kelsey from another venue to the current one. Why? I have no idea. It was 3 a.m.! He should have pulled her home. I also don’t know why he thought I should care if they have history. In my eyes, if he wanted her, he should’ve stepped up and taken her back instead of trying to claim rights to her).

Keep in mind that most of our jabs at each other were very subtle. The girl even told me later on that she didn’t even notice what was going on. I basically just treated him like a beta-male friend that wasn’t a sexual threat whatsoever. And because I had so much value and didn’t actively include him, she didn’t either. I also had an advantage in that I didn’t care at all of I lost her since 1) she wasn’t hot and 2) I was out celebrating and wasn’t even allowed to pull. I was just there genuinely having fun with the girl. At one point I let him have her attention for a few extra seconds, and then used that “special attention” he was giving her as a way to throw him under the bus. I began selling him to her, telling Kelsey that Todd’s so cool, smart, funny, hard working, etc. The psychology behind doing that is 1) it puts him in the spotlight which normally makes people feel awkward 2) it sub-communicates that he’s low value and doesn’t have a options because high value things don’t need to be oversold.

Anyway, he tried brushing it off by saying that I was “too kind,” but being how delicate his voice is, it really didn’t communicate the level of indifference that he needed to. He also didn’t use that as an opportunity to lead the conversation, so I simply took her hand and said, “I have another friend I want to introduce you to. Come with me,” and then left him alone once again. I walked Kelsey over to my friend Brian, and left them both to find my friend Matt (who also happens to be Todd’s former assistant) to regroup and continue celebrating. Apparently a number of RSD assistants attempted to steal Kelsey while I was gone, but were unsuccessful.

Matt and I returned to Kelsey and Brian a few moments later and continued joking around. Apparently by that point Todd and Tyler told Matt two separate times to have me leave the set, and then threw a tantrum when Matt said he wouldn’t. I just used that information to burn Todd’s chances even more. I told her that he was upset she didn’t want him, and that it was so weird because all we were doing was talking. By that point it was pretty much over for him.

Another RSD guy (found out later he was Tyler’s student) entered the interaction shortly after with Kelsey’s friend and invited her to the “after party.” I actually thought he had her because he sounded very confident and assertive, but Kelsey wasn’t down to leave me. I knew the student from year prior when I helped out on a Miami boot camp so I decided to help him isolate by telling Kelsey that the student was very cool, that they should go, and that Kelsey and I would join soon. Kelsey seemed cool with it, but the friend wasn’t down.

A few more minutes pasted and Todd reapproached Matt for the third time, pulling him to the side. At this point I was really annoyed because he was sucking my friends in his drama. I left the girl to interrupt Todd and tell him that if he wants the girl so badly, then he could have her. He gave me a few reasons why he didn’t want to try again (I felt super disappointed to hear he wouldn’t take another shot for his student), but he did ask me if I could pull the girls with his student to help him out, which I agreed to do.

I walked a few feet over back to the group and said, “Alright guys. Let’s get the fuck out of here” and walked everyone to my apartment. I let the student use my room, but he didn’t fully close, and I just occupied the friend for a couple hours until they left.
