experiences. I find talking about hobbies doesn't do shit and you tend to ramble. You talk about the time you nearly broke your leg playing soccer, not the fact that you play soccer or what soccer's about

What skills/interest have you guys picked up that you find to make you more interesting.

It's not about a skill/interest making you interesting.

It's about a skill/interest enriching your life and providing you with valuable life experiences and context for life that allows you to gain wisdom.

Do not force a conversation topic. thats being said. If i were to suggest my hypothetical son an activity to engage in his spare time, it would be "Sports betting".*

What weight training does for muscles, diligent betting does for emotional-self.

It teaches you what it means be uncertain and risk taking
It demands emotional self control; Getting greedy or being afraid are steps to disaster.

off course I hate gambling. *How you do bet determines whether you are gambling or Investing.

Learn to tell your story: why do you game? What does it add to your life? What have you learned that you can teach someone? The fishing part could be really interesting too... talk about your grandfather and how he ties into your life. Why fishing? What do you like about fishing?

If you want some experience with this listen to a couple of episodes of This American Life. Note how the presenters slow down and control their pitch to tell a story.

I don't know that fishing will make you interesting to women. That may also depend on where you are in the country...since in Alaska might be a truly necessary life skill.

How about cooking? Also, go out and do fun stuff that you can tell stories about. How about hiking or kayaking or traveling?
