My advice? Watch 500 Days of Summer with the girl. It's not an awful movie, and if you play it right you can reminisce about the bullshit at the end where he randomly meets the girl. Regardless, you inevitably talk to her and get to know her more, and if her ideas of a good time are more like watching 500 Days, then you know it isn't worth it.

The point at first is not the activity, but rather getting a chance to listen, respond, process, respond.. insert jokes or chances to flirt as they come. Gauge your chemistry. You're the one shopping.

Conversational skill is all good. But don't worry about "building attraction". It's not something that you have to put any effort into. All the tactical stuff about how to "build attraction" is a waste of mental energy.

Much of the DiCarlo escalation ladder only works in a one v. one environment...

Fuck that shit too. Too much wasted mental energy. Too much tactical thinking. Yeah, build up slowly if you have to. But don't spend time thinking about it.

Now, the core of your question:

Don't pretend anything. Just enjoy yourself and be honest about what you want. That's all. Let her know that you like her and want to get hot with her. Do this before getting the number. Let her know as soon as possible, and then just hang out, having fun, like boys and girls do.

Instead, should I just invite the girl back to my room? How? "Want to see my etchings?"

Just be honest. "Lets go back to my place so I can try and seduce you".

I want to be in control.

If you want all the power, then be totally honest, with the understanding that you have no control over how she responds.

Here is the paradox: if you let go of all deceit, all 'tactics', and admit that you are powerless before your attaction to her, then you are at your strongest. Showing that kind of vulnerability and honesty is really attractive, because it shows your strength. Other men don't do that. Lesser men will try and lie and game their way into her pants.
