I asked a girl for an exam that was sitting in front of me at the university library. She started talking like crazy and was very receptive. Her behavior was suspicious to me, so I stayed longer in the library than I usually would. In the end, we stayed in the library until closing. We started talking again, and when I asked her which direction she was going, she said, "Just go." She asked a bunch of questions about me and talked with enthusiasm while we were walking towards my bus station, which was a 10-minute walk from the university. When we arrived, I asked her where she lives, and she told me it was in the opposite direction. For example, if my home is in Miami, the university is in Washington, and New York is her home, she was walking in a completely different direction with me. Movement is a strong indicator of interest, but I messed up because I was broke at the time and had zero confidence because of it.

This was in my early 20s, but I also missed other opportunities. For example, the receptionist at my gym would ask me a few times per sauna session if I had enough water.
