Mine is not to get a quick hookup or casual dating but instead, find a "good" girl with the intent of having a decent length relationship with.

This is a poor attitude, you are being a bit condescending. "Good girls" like sex too. Any long term relationship will be a sexual relationship, she wants that as much as you. It is easier to go to an LTF after you seduce her. Attraction first, friends second.

The single biggest reason that guys get friendzoned is because they're too slow or hesitant to escalate. Why is this? Because a man who does not act upon his sexual urges lacks confidence and is therefore unattractive to women.

As the male, there is an unwritten expectation that you will be the one initiating all phases of the dating process. This means that you should be asking her out, you should be initiating the first kiss, etc. Sometimes the woman will initiate, but it's not something you should count on.

Now, I'm not saying that you should be trying to fondle her boobs 10 minutes into the date, but you should be actively escalating both physically and emotionally. If you're moving too fast she'll stop you and you can try again at a later time.

Remember, a woman will forgive a man for being too aggressive. She will not forgive him for being too timid.

I'm going to go ahead and disagree with most of the guys here. I think escalation is very important but I don't think it's necessary that you have sex on the first, second, or even maybe third date. The difference is that you choose not to have sex, not because you're too afraid to initiate it, but because you want to wait. I understand why you might want to do this.

What you're going to need to do is amp up the sexual tension hardcore by escalating almost all the way up until having sex. And you need to keep that tension there until you decide to do the deed. You can do this through physical touching, being suggestive, flirting, etc... The important thing is that you show consistently show a sexual interest in her. You need to be confident. Confidence is the only way to make this sort of thing work. You can't seem needy at all, but you can be persistent. I would say this is alot more subtle type of game, because as others have said, it's alot easier to get a girl to stick around once you've had sex. Good luck with this though.

The speed of escalation does not determine what sort of relationship it will be. That is determined by things like how often you see a girl (2-3 times a week is about the range for the girlfriend compared to once a week maximum is what you want for fuck buddy) and what you do together (for a girl friend spend romantic time together compared to a fuck buddy where at max you'd probably meet up at a bar and have a few drinks before doing the deed).

As for your question about speed of escalation, something I and friends have experienced is that a girl will be very flaky and non-committed until you have sex with her. In other words you're more likely to get a girl to be your girlfriend after you sleep with her.
