Youre going to need to give us a bit of context (like what city youre in) because I'm going to guess that what works in Los Angeles may not work in Saudia Arabia or North Korea.

That said, if we're talking about western countries, generally the structure goes:

Small talk
Transition to normal conversation
Playful / Teasing / Humor
Flirting
Invite to something
Exchange contact information

In that order. You progress to each step once the previous one goes okay or you get investment from it. So for example, if she won't even engage you in small talk, that is NOT the time to skip to step 6 and ask for a number. You're just begging for her to give you a fake number.

As soon as you're not seen as a threat.

People evaluate strangers that approach them in this order:

Are they a threat?
Are they appealing to me?

So when you approach indirect what happens is this:

Are they a threat? NO (you went indirect. You probably passed this requirement)
Are they appealing to me? UNKNOWN

But basically, you hit on them at this point because they have potentially decided they're interested. As soon as you get some kind of positive, or relaxed response (which shows they don't see you as a threat) - begin showing your intentions. You should not stay in "indirect mode" for long if you're getting good signs.

I think you need to remember there is no formula. You have to vibe with the girl.

Once you sense conversation is slowing down, you say something like "hey you know, let's exchange Instagrams". After that, you part ways. NEVER overstay your welcome. That's the #1 sign you are socially awkward and she'll want nothing to do with you.

I know I'm giving a vague answer. But there's no "formula". You just have read signs of her wanting conversation to end. For example, she's not asking about you in return. She's giving short answers. Her eyes start wandering. Her tone, volume and eye contact all give off signs.

By the way, you don't have to "show your intentions". Asking for her Instagram (or other social media) already shows interest.

These days, asking for her Instagram is a low bar achievement so it's the most safe thing to ask. Many women will happily give it. After all, the point of her posting stuff is for people to look and react to it.

Honestly. As soon as you approach. Tell her what you're thinking- in your own words "you're attractive" "you're sexy." If she's receptive, let her know again in your own words "I'd love to have sex some time this week. Let me get your number(or offer your number). Straight to the point. Don't be rude about it. But at the same time be real about it. Remember, these aren't lines. Say this stuff in your own words and only if you mean it- if your goal is long term, adjust it how you see fit. If it's casual, be real about it. Plenty of women want casual as well
