Sounds like your first step is to get your nose out of the "apps" and into the real world.

Stop worrying about picking up girls, and just start meeting people. Talk to everyone, even about mundane shit.

Not every interaction has to be focused on getting laid; but every interaction *will* build your confidence as you learn to talk to strangers.

Work on that, then get back to us on the second part, getting romantic.

Meetup app. I had the exact same problem. I joined a bunch of Meetup groups and now I have a group of friends that go out regularly and we have a lot of fun.

I meet new girls every week and try to stick to the same groups and I made sure to make friends with everyone in the group both male and female.

Sometimes we will go to a bar and I naturally approach women around our group because I'm already having so much fun it just happens. That's what happened this week, cute girl at a different table, got her group to join ours, then got her number, then a date last night. All without a cold approach.

I have the same problem but just wanted to say I was chatting to Filipino girls from dating sites, also dated one. They all go to church but they don't seem religious at all. That led me to believe they don't actually go to church for religious reasons, maybe they go for a sense of community and in some cases maybe for the sole purpose of having men hit on them.
