I was out last night getting nowhere with anyone. After having one of the sickest pickup nights of my life Wednesday (~ 6 months into game), last night was HORRIBLE as far as getting blown out. Did well making it funny and not getting stuck in my head.

Anyway, I'm leaving this one venue and I see this girl smoking. She was attractive from a few feet away, so I decided to throw something out there.

I have said this to a girl before and she loved it. What I said was:

"Excuse me-- this may seem extremely presumptuous, but I think you are far too attractive to smoke cigarettes and you should quit it right now"

I realize this is an asshole move to someone who smokes-- but I like the shit-tests I get from it normally. Before, I had a girl give me 'bambi eyes', throw down her cigarette, and say "thank you do much".

This time the girl got mad and said it was rude for me to say she shouldn't smoke just because she is attractive. I said 'I'm sorry, it is a journey of mine to try to get people to quit smoking so I don't have to breathe that shit everywhere I walk, and I'm starting with the attractive ones'. During saying 'I'm sorry', I go for the shoulder side-hug, which she rejects. I recognize she rejected it straight away and backed off instantaneously.

A guy with her group proceeds to tell me I 'forced' her to do the side hug, and it was gross that I assumed she wouldn't mind it. He said it was comparable to rape. I end up talking to him for 10 minutes about how people like him hate seeing people who are outgoing and unapologetic. I told him how social congruence can help you recognize when something isn't working and if you try something innocent and it isn't accepted well, it's important to recognize that and re-calibrate. To never do that is for me to stay in 'his' shell of what he thinks people should do.

My question is, was I right? The approach I used is being eradicated from my arsenal because I realized it's like giving a fat person hell for being in the McDonald's line: They've accepted what they're doing. But as far as the white knight goes, what other types of things could I have said to really re-shape his ideals?

Knowing how to deal with white knights helps a lot with my confidence to approach sets where a guy is present.

TL;DR

White night says side-hug is comparable to rape. What are ways to deal with white knights?
