The reason - because we all hate to lose and come up short.

After going for the same girl who I thought was perfect for me for almost two years, and finally facing a rejection a year ago, I can say that this is the biggest blow a guy can possibly take - but it does not have to be.

We all are naturally competitive - it's the biggest characteristic in the male gene. It's why athletes throw their helmets when losing the big game. It's why they isolate themselves afterwards and regret for the longest time over what they could have done differently. Losing flat out blows, and rejection feels like a loss. But eventually, they suit back up and give it another shot, knowing that loss is not the end of the world.

When most guys get rejected by that one girl, they immediately go into "redemption" mode - how can i win her ? How can I pursue her differently ? Women are not sports or trophies - but it amazes me how guys who suffer through one-itis think she is the ultimate prize and all else is worthless besides her approval.

I found that if you can defeat the "loser mentality", its much easier to move on. In reality, you lost nothing - a girl who you built up in your mind said no to you. As my father use to say, "some wont, so what, move on".

I'll most more on my story in the coming weeks.
