The problem is that when a man tries to ask for advice or searches on the internet, he doesn't go that deep into things. What he does is to memorize rules that "sound logical" but only work in certain situations.

Example:

I wrote on /askWoman how women like to be touched?

Now obviously there were a lot of replies... but there was someone who wrote

well... there is nothing wrong with that opinion. What I'm getting at is that if a man takes this advice because "it's logical/a woman told him" then the man remarks that this is the default way to treat women in such situations.

And that's where a lot of the misunderstandings are when men write that

"women don't know what they want because they'd prefer the man to be experienced and know when to do what".

Which I agree with. But again, nothing is simple. The woman I mentioned was stating a "preference", not what the whole "WOMEN'S species" thinks.

I know it may be obvious when I write it down, but it's a good example of a woman giving answers that work for "the individual" but (note) she is not answering to how you should behave in the first place. By basic, I mean that you "shouldn't" ask when you can touch a woman by default because you can tell (if you're skilled) from social cues when you can, or even take a little risk.

If this particular answer had gotten 40-100 upvotes then many would accept that it "seems" that's what women want. However, if we want to get decent and in most cases, workable answers we have to be vigilant and not believe everything just because it "sounds logical" and certainly not look for answers from 1-2 places, especially on a "non-simple" topic like getting girls.
