I was reading about this idea on his book Always Talk to Strangers. Basically one of his clients is new to the area he just moved into, and wants to meet women, so he signs up on a dating site and sends out 20 emails to women he finds interesting, and over the next two weeks he ends up going on dates with 16 of them. The point is that by dating so many women he gets a lot of experience and practice, and gets to know a few women with whom he would actually like to continue things further.

While I really like the idea of being able to shotgun a LOT of dates in a few weeks, since I really don't have much dating experience (things go long term pretty fast with me, I need to be pickier or less desperate) I simply don't see how I can get that many dates all at once. My experience with dating sites has been that I can get at most maybe 1 or 2 dates a month with women I'm actually interested in, so of course it's a slow and painful process and you learn very little.

Are you guys able to go on lots of dates? If so, do you date women who are not that interesting to you just out of scientific curiosity? What's the trick?
