I see people on Reddit all the time mocking people who believe in religion, don’t believe in science, and don’t believe in evolution. Fine. That’s their worldview whatever. I won’t make fun of either group for that.

Yet these same people who “just follow the science” will completely deny evolution and genetics when it suits their worldview. 0 self awareness.

Personality? Genetic

Height?Genetic

Face? Genetic

Race? Genetic

IQ? Genetic

Athleticism,Muscles,Frame? Genetic

Creativity and Artistic Capability? Genetic

Neurotypicality? Genetic

Disease risk factors? Genetic

Mental disorders? Genetic

You can’t just “Fix your personality sweaty” your genetics. Then they cope and say “Oh but tabula rasa bro. Environment bro. Environmental factors bro.”

My friend. Most development takes place before the age of 18. Their “muh environmental factors and changing your fate” is the ultimate cope.

Just tell an 8 year old getting groomed by gangs in the South Side of Chicago to get up and leave bro. Just fight back against your alchoholic and abusive parents bro. You said you were 7? That’s 7 years wasted bro. Just lift brah.

By the time you can control your environment or change it, the development in your brain has already crystallized. It’s too late. This is all common sense science that you can read in even high school textbooks. Yet they deny this. Either you have no control (genetics) or the factors you can control have already left a negative/positive impact (environment).

They acknowledge the impact of the environment. Yet they still believe you can just change everything with the press of a button.

Because it’s not about giving advice. It’s about reinforcing their own worldview so they see themselves as having a moral high ground.

Something I’ve realized about these people is this:

Even though they say they aren’t religious, they in fact are. They’ve simply replaced classical religions with secular ideological religions. The liberal atheist just therapy crowd and the religious conservative just bootstraps crowd are one and the same. Two faces of the same coin.
