He was just wondering if the door was still open with you. By replying to him, you showed that you are at least somewhat emotionally available to him. He has no actual intention to follow through, which is why there was no follow up text, he was just checking to see if he still has sway. Men do this regularly, which is why you always have to block - if someone has proved them unworthy of you once (which he has, as he is an ex), there should not be an opportunity for them to hurt you again. Block him immediately and forget about him.

I’m at about 8 “hey” messages from a guy I dated briefly, none of which I responded to. I’m still just wondering why he does it, and I have him on mute, I just am curious how long it will go on for. I think he’s just doing it to see if he’s blocked yet, bc I had him blocked briefly before, but I unblocked him to see if he still texted it. Anytime my pre fds self gave him a chance and responded, the following interactions were a waste of time, couldn’t make plans, he’d constantly flake, etc. I know I need to block him, I’m just amused at this point at how many “heys” I can get up to with zero response back.
