Got my papers this morning (well technically yesterday but I didn’t see the email until this morning). My state has a 90 day “cooling off” period so I’ve just been burning the clock to the finish line. I’ve read a lot here over the past 15 months, commented on some stories, and posted my story over in the r/survivinginfidelity sub last January. I’ve long since gotten over the hurt of her choices and found a quote I like awhile back that sums it all up… “I’m so happy I didn’t end up with the life I thought I wanted”.

I’ve been enjoying living my life since she moved out in September but this gives some closure to the whole thing. I have my kids tonight so I think I may just pick up a decent steak for my daughter and I (my 6yo son won’t touch them… yet) and have a glass of Angel’s Envy and enjoy the moment a little. When I discovered her affair, this was the last thing I wanted. Now I can’t imagine a life with her and I’m still in a bit of shock about how it’s made me grow as a person for the better. I’m more physically and emotionally fit than I’ve ever been in my 40 years on earth. And despite the financial setback, I’d dare to say I’m happier than at any point in my marriage.

To all those still going through it… keep your head up and keep moving forward. It does get better. On to better things!
