I’m over thinking my settlement agreement so wondering if anyone has dealt with this.

  1. Wife and I have already separated finances. I’m keeping my debts, cash, retirement in my name, she is keeping same in her name

  2. I am giving her the house with a shit ton of equity. Agreement says I have to leave home within 9 months (no notice mentioned). She has 9 months to refinance. While I’m there, I pay $4000/month. Once I leave I pay $0. It says then she pays 100% of costs. If she can’t refinance, she has to sell. She’s responsible for 100% of fix up costs. She keeps 100% of profits.

So: is my liability capped at $4000 per month while I’m living there, no matter what happens (HVAC breaks? Roof caves in?) agreement says nothing about major repairs. Seems since she is going to own it, major repairs are hers and I’m just renting

I know I know, consult my lawyer. But I fired them already so just wondering if anyone experienced this in their own divorce
