Me and my wife of 10 years ( have a 5 year old son) decided to file for divorce. We live in Texas and have agreed for 50/50 custody. Assets can be 50/50 as well. We both have family in Atlanta ( my brother and her brother) live there. In Texas we have no family and a small circle of friends and just familiarity of the area. I am not sure if we should move to Atlanta right away and file divorce there or get divorced in Texas and then slowly move to Atlanta.

Move might help everyone involved and my son will have few extended family members to interact with. At the same time I will be totally new to the area. Any suggestions?

Also we both are still in the same house as we are still figuring out next steps. Is this ok?
