I've been thinking about how for the last 2ish weeks since I joined this sub and it cemented ideas I had already come to on my own, that I wonder if I really want to be in a romantic relationship at all. The reasons I'd want one just don't outweigh the benefits, at least not for me right now. Perhaps it's that I've always been more independent minded, love my career, my space, and I get all the aforementioned bullet points from my dear friends, family, and cat. Maybe it's just this week, but I'm wondering if this sub is encouraging this in me even further...as much as there is also discussion on HVM I just don't want to deal with any of the LVM anymore. I just have no energy to wade through the sea when I actually like the island I'm on. More a meandering thought... but if any of y'all have insight I'm all ears.

Girl same. I can’t even think about relationships without getting exhausted. I enjoy my life too much as it is without involving the huge risk of dating again.

ditto i spent 5ys happily single and building a life I'd like for another 25yrs happily single! Just this year I commited to someone and they know that they're there as a sprinkle on my life, because I already have everything i need and want on my own!
