Women believe that the social hierarchy goes alpha males > women > beta males. Many women are insulted when a beta asks them out. When a beta asks them out, hes implying that maybe hes good enough for her, which makes many women angry, as they see that as an insult to their value (since they see betas as "below them").
In their mind, itd be like an entry level employee believing that hes good enough to get a bunch of 1 on 1 time with the regional manager. Obviously, a beta asking a woman out isnt nearly that ridiculous, but thats how many of them see it (the concept of a low status man believing himself to be on the same level as his superiors).

Given the structure of the movies, it's clear that from the very beginning the Marvel movies were built around the Infinity War, so even though they didn't have every detail worked out, they had the broad strokes down pat.
I wonder, however, how late into this sequence they got before Captain Marvel's part got fleshed out, and whether or not from the beginning it was going to be the feminist power fantasy it was, just like Black Panther was the black power fantasy. Like, were they always planning on CM being a Feminist Deus ex Machina from the start, or was it just when this origin movie's individual plot was being worked on was all this set up?
When you think about it, CM bookends the whole movie series, because canonically she's now the one that got the Avenger initiative established, and the last thing Nick Fury did before he was dusted by the Gauntlet's snap was to call on her for aid in what can rightly be called the universe's darkest hour. The whole series of movies is technically built around HER, and thus in a sense is all about HER. I'm really forced to wonder what they thought was going to happen when they build a franchise of this magnitude, only to have the central figure be a person who's an almost carbon copy of what Brie Larson THINKS her own personal life is like? I wonder how much of the movie is based on Larson herself, or whether they had her characterization down before casting and they just picked the actress that most resembled her in personal temperament.
Given the genius behind Infinity War, and the long-range plans of the movie makers, it staggers me beyond belief that they thought this revelation wouldn't end up 86'ing everything; because they built a comic-book movie franchise and had the most powerful character be the sort of person who'd think that comic book fans are scum, and played by an actress who'd mirror that belief totally.

Yeah, there was some massive greentext post where a guy who saw it gave a summary, and from what I remember of it the whole movie is a massive handjob to every feminist and SJW trope imaginable, with just enough comic book to act as filler and legal justification for the movie to exist.
I think a lot of the reasoning behind this is that execs are more afraid of a handful of shrill harpies who'd give up and move on to another mark a week later then the hordes of legit fans who have a rightful bone to pick with them over a massive dick move done to appease people who probably wouldn't watch the movie or use the products/services anyway.
It's the nationwide corporate policy to repeatedly cave in to a vocal minority at the expense of the silent majority, and there's a cabal of perpetual victim claimers who now make a living off of it. You also have execs hiring writers and directors that are now coming out of colleges in recent years that are more like indoctrination facilities then education centers, so what you have here is individual faults all coming over to create this gestalt abomination that the sane masses are forced to deal with. That it all ends in tears and disaster apparently doesn't matter.
