is the bottle being raped?
[–]Red_Pill_Dynamics18 points19 points20 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Possibly; All I know is if you put your pen on the bottom left corner, and draw a straight line to the right side of the glass, you'll have the answer to the original question which apparently 40% of college women can't figure out.
However, I have a distinct feeling 98% of college women know their away around dick, orgies, three-somes and anal like the back of their hands.
Not to mention, when those women finally marry, 80% of those thots will file for divorce first and 100% of them will claim to be a victim, to have never cheated and will gladly take full custody and as much as the court will afford her in the divorce rape.
Where were we again? Oh yea, looking at a half-full glass (without a woman in your life) and a second, more tilted glass with nothing in it, representing what your life looks like WITH a woman in it.

draw a straight line to the right side of the glass
Straight horizontal line
[–]gevorgter1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
That is absolutely wrong. Volume would not change. There is no way that triangle will have same volume as a bottle's bottom. To answer the question we need to know how wide the bottle is. And how much water (aka height) is there.
[–]gevorgter0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Actually on a second thought. You are correct. Too many beers tonight....
[–]Vobat0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I think from the wording of the question it does not matter. It is asking for what the shape would look like not for a accurate drawing.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It hasn't decided yet.
[–]drmonkeytown0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
If you’re looking at the bottle, then yes, that could be construed as rape.
[–][deleted] 69 points70 points71 points 6 years ago* (6 children) | Copy Link
I know what the answer is but I always overthink these things. At what acceleration did the bottle tilt and stop at? How long ago did it tilt? Like should I draw waves? bubbles? The water stuck to the side due to surface tension? There's a joke somewhere in there about drawing water right... like a bath? Oooh, maybe they want me to draw a bath? Is this a 2d bottle? How does this hypothetical 2d universe work?

I would assume that since its a college question that it wouldn't be a trick. If it were on Facebook I'd entertain that notion.
[–]themenacehimself6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Bruh, don’t overthink it
[–]squeegypeegy4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This sounds like an SNL skit back when SNL was actually entertaining.

Why's this upvoted. Stupid comment
[–]ben-anders32 points33 points34 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
This is a misogynistic question. Those evil white men always try to trick us.
[–]delocalelectron30 points31 points32 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Should've said red wine - much more familiar concept.
No “water” line would need to be drawn since there would be no wine left.

RAPE! IT'S RAPE!! AAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
[–]FiReFoXbEaSt16 points17 points18 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I feel like I’m over thinking this. Do we have to calculate how high the line would be relative to the current amount of water in figure A, or is it just relative whereas you would just draw the direction the line would go without calculating how much is already in figure A. Either way I know which way the line would go, but this feels like the kind of question your hard-ass teacher would give you just to fuck your grade over. Probably why I’m overthinking it.
[–]Momus1235 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
It's the same exact straight line. As gravity keep water down the same and water displaces the empty area to the right side of the bottle.
[–]FiReFoXbEaSt6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah I know but I was wondering if you had to draw the line at the exact height it would be given that the same amount of water is in B that was in A, or if it just didn’t matter.
[–]evergreenyankee4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
It's not the same exact straight line. The area of the triangle will be less than the area of the rectangle, so the line will be higher than in A. But it will still be a line that is parallel to the line in A.
[–]RedMeatTrinket15 points16 points17 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Well... Go MGTOW!
[–]Jadedoldman6514 points15 points16 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Of course, if the water were frozen, the line would remain exactly the same in relation to the sides of the bottle. (Engineer's answer, the question didn't say that the water was in its liquid state).

Its water not ice bro.
[–]AspirantMilitant0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
ice is just frozen water
[–]ToolRulz680 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Clouds are just water mist, why didn’t they call it clouds then, or steam. Oh because water is only water in its liquid state.
If it were frozen it'd be called ice not water fk off

[–]Never_Simp3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
How do they draw it?
[–]Vobat8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
I would guess exactly the way A is.
[–]Never_Simp11 points12 points13 points 6 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

[–]ToolRulz684 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Well it seems like about 40% of the people in this thread would get the problem wrong as well.
[–]peepeeandpoopooman0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
So what's the answer?
[–]BudSpencer12317 points18 points19 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
grab your bottle, go into kitchen, fill it with water, turn it sideways like in the picture, compare to before, drink your tasty water
[–]Slarddon13 points14 points15 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Instructions unclear dick stuck in bottle
[–]debanked0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
If it in kitchen, grab some detergent and pour it around the rim and gently giggle up and down until it slides off. It usually takes me a few minutes of giggling to get it off
[–]OnlyHanzo3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Should be at the same level, right?
Despite having more surface area as the side is larder than bottom, the water keeps same height as it is propped by the corner at 45* angle.
[–]TigPlaze4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
That's what I think. It's so easy I suspect a trick question.
[–]stillstandingsitdown1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The source someone linked was in relation to spatial ability. The point being men's spatial ability is better so of course it's easy for you to picture and think it's a trick. The line can be drawn exactly the same as the other line and it would represent the way the water tilts with the bottle.
Although the source doesn't say how the 40% fail the test, I'd assume they'd draw the line in the same position on the bottle so the line would appear at an angle to the original line. As if the liquid didn't move at all in the bottle and only the bottle did. .
[–]ilfiliri2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
In Figure B, the bottle is tilted at a significant angle and doesn’t appear to be supported by a stand or a base. It’s reasonable to assume then that the bottle is falling, the water is in motion, and no discernible water line exists.
[–]mikeysixpointsix2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The answer is: due to patriarchal norms the bottle on the left represents men’s wages and the right represents women’s wages. Therefore the line should be 17% lower on the tilted bottle. Ergo, Patriarchy! 🤣🤣🤣
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is a skill called conversion, we learn it in the preoperational stage of our life (2-7 years old), if these women get the answer wrong this means that they are quite literally developmentally disabled.
[–]drmonkeytown1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Sure it LOOKS like a bottle partially full of water, but does it IDENTIFY as a bottle partially full of water?
[–]pangolin0010 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is weird because either it's a trick question (because the bottle is empty) or you're really supposed to draw the line because if they already drew the water in there, the problem would already be solved.
So anyway, I'd draw the line. If I was wrong (because it was a trick), I'd certainly have a good argument for the professor.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Well, if the wife would attend to her domestic duties, the bottle would be full. But she's captured by feminism, so there is no water.
Is that an option on the test?
[–]selfism_mike0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Is the water frozen or liquid? The question can't be answered due to insufficient information.
[–]Aggrestis0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I dont care if a man or a woman did it wrong, but they shouldn't probably study at university.
