Andriy Demchenko, the spokesman of the State Security Service of Ukraine, said on the air during the telethon that some men try to cross the border with fake certificates about the deaths of their wives.

Demchenko said that every day, border guards detain up to 20 men who try to cross the border illegally.

Demchenko's direct speech: "As a rule, they try to use fake documents. Most of these are documents from the Military Commissariat that tell them they are unsuitable for military service.

We often see men falsifying documents about their children, pretending they have three children, or providing a death certificate for their wife, as single parents are also allowed to cross the border.
