I don't see why this is a problem. Making the anthem more inclusive is hardly a bad thing.

Edit: And if we're going with the interpretation of "All thy sons" refers to the army, aren't we in favour of women shouldering equal responsibility?

The linked video is misleading.

All they want changed is "in all thy sons command" to "in all of us command".

I don't see a problem with this. Gender neutrality in our laws is what we want too.

A couple years ago the gov said they were going to review changing the lyrics, the backlash was so quick and huge they backpedalled almost immediately.

Personally, I don't have a problem changing it if the new words fit. "In all the sons command" wasn't even in the original lyrics, it was brought in around WW1. But feminists are clearly in the minority on this and this issue was smacked down just a couple years ago.

I will not support this, because they explicitly say on their site that this is the only thing wrong with the anthem, despite the fact that it's just one:

"God keep our land" forces atheists to lie, and

"our home and native land" is wrong for "Canadians of convenience" who were neither born here, nor live here

If we can't even be remotely honest in our anthem, why complain when the government lies to us?
