What it all boils down to is that women should be able to have the choice to do whatever they want while men don't. If a woman wants to be a CEO she should be able to be a CEO because reasons.

How is it an illusion to believe that recruiting women en masse into the lower levels of military won't have an effect on the larger structures? With more women in the military it will be less male dominated, women will be more likely to rise in ranks because there is a greater selection of women.

Having more women in the military will militarize women... no fuckin shit sherlock. What did you think the military was for? picking daisies?

Ah yes the military should focus on non-violence, you know that already happens right? And that despite all the conflicts going on in the world we live in the most peaceful times in the history of the world right? However there still needs to be a defense for the crazies that still exist out in the world. As long as you can take things by force there are going to be people taking things by force and no amount of words can stop them.

How can a person not see this?

The Norwegian Association for Women’s Rights (NKF) considers female conscription as a misunderstanding of the concept of gender equality and the intentions of the Law on Equality. Gender equality implies first and foremost that women and men should have the same human rights and fundamental freedoms. Women should be valued and allocated power and resources on equal terms with men. But women and men do not have to be alike or do the same things to be equal.

How do you even debate this? This is what feminists actually believe. They want the same rights and benefits, without any of the duties or obligations to go with it. This is the mentality of a spoiled teenager.

Equality is a two-way street ladies. You can't enjoy all of the benefits with none of the drawbacks.

Any logical person would understand that this means conscripting more women than men for awhile since men are underprivileged when it comes to conscription.

Since child care and caring for elders is both expected of women AND impossible to perform while in the military, it seems the solution to closing BOTH gaps is compelling women to enter the armed forces.

I understand society is going to need people to take care of the elderly and children. Men are quite capable of doing that and quite frankly should, but because it's impossible to do while in the military thankfully the genders don't have to be treated equally to achieve equality.

I propose female only conscription and a female only military (It's just Norway. Who the heck will the need to fight that they have a chance of beating by themselves anyway?). It should close the gender pay gap too since men will have to cut back on work to handle the child care.

Does the OP know if the women's groups mentioned are feminist groups or more like conservative women's groups like the CWA or Eagle Forum in the USA? They'd sound pretty much identical on these issues so it's hard to say.
