I was just curious because it seems that the target for standards of treatment in other groups of people always seems to be the way men are treated, therefore who do the men strive to be on equal ground with?

Feminists say they want to be treated the way men are. They don't. Men aren't treated very well. Yes, men make more money than women in general (this is the part where women want to be treated the same... the more money part), but that's because men work longer hours, more dangerous jobs, and make up 92% of all workplace fatalities (this is the part where women don't want to be treated the same... the work part).

We just want men and women to be treated the same. Right now, women are getting the privileges of men (like the more money part) without the requirements (the harder working part). That's demoralizing and the opposite of equality.

The target is for everyone to have the fair treatment. If everyone is treated equally then a target group is irrelevant.

Using some metric to determine which group has it better is not helpful because it obscures differences in individual areas. For example, men make up the majority of suicides and conversely, there are more men who are politicians than women. If you use a gender as a target for the best treatment, nobody wins, because no gender has all of the advantages.

Another problem with identifying a target group is that the solution might be a point in between two groups. For example, in the justice system treating everyone like women is probably going to be too lenient, but treating everyone like men is probably too harsh.

The basic summary of men's rights is "equality before the law and equal application of the law". For more detail, there are excellent resources in the sidebar.

You should go download and watch The Red Pill, by Cassie Jaye. Its a newly released documentary about her journey as a feminist into the mens rights movement. Although it doesnt cover everything or go as deep as possible (due to time constraints), its a great place to start.

Edit: If you are looking for more in depth information, i would suggest looking up Karen Straughn, Janice fiamengo on YouTube. If you are looking for books or other literature, Dr. Warren Farrell's "The Myth of Male Power" is on my to do list of books to read. There are many more but these are just some examples, feel free to message if you have any questions.

What is the group of people that you would like to be considered equals to? And in what ways?

Naturally, women.

We would like bodily autonomy, parental rights, and equality under the law (prison sentencing). Women have these things while men distinctly lack them.
