Here is a recent example of a father who killed his children being given an NCRMD (not criminally responsible by reason of mental defect) verdict. He was apparently suffering from psychosis at the time of the triple homicide. I'd be really interested to see forensic psychologists undertake a systematic study of these situations comparing genders of parents and court outcomes.

I love that this is still (at the moment) the top link in MR despite the fact that the headline is completely misleading and that there is no gender issue here at all (her male partner was also cleared of murder charges due to his mental health, and both have pleaded guilty to manslaughter).

RTFA you're submitting. She wasn't cleared of murder, she confessed to manslaughter--and so did the man. They were convicted of equal crimes. This has nothing to do with men's rights, it's just an inflammatory attempt to make women look bad, which fails because the law was applied equally here.

Are you fucking kidding me? I'm a woman who suffers from severe depression. Yes, depression is crippling at times. Yes, it makes you act ways you wouldn't normally act if you were healthy, but I cannot even image doing something like this to one of my (future) children.

Depression or not, we are all responsible for our actions. It's an insult to me, someone who suffers from depression and deals with it, that people honestly believe that depression suffers are so deranged they can't even be held accountable for their actions.

It's Bullshit. Absolute bullshit.
