Step 1. Piss on men

Step 2. Ask why men are angry

Yeah, it's baiting. Kind of a form of gaslighting, isn't it?

What a fucked up sale strategy. What harm does it do to society? Enough to be regarded as high treason?

I'm completely ignoring the MSM or the state here in Sweden, and I've never felt better.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

More like..

  1. Piss on men
  2. Shit on men.
  3. Wipe your ass with men.
  4. Ignore them.
  5. Kick him in the balls.
  6. Go back to step 1 and repeat steps 1 thru 5 at least 12 times.
  7. Ask "Why are men so angry ?"
  8. Act all innocent and naive

In fact, most of these readers believe that what we’re seeing today, with alarming regularity, is a result of a decades-long erosion — in education, in popular culture, in the family and the workplace and society at large — in the way we now raise and regard boys and young men

Umm you could have just said "Most of these readers believe feminism is destroying the foundation of society"

To that point, some readers blamed women: feminists, women who choose work over devoting themselves as wives and mothers, single mothers for not providing male role models.

Well the destruction of the Father in families is the leading cause of many issues in society today. Feminism is the root cause of the destruction of the Father, so 2 of 3 is accurate. I would have to know much more about the actual statements on "women working" to comment on them

This is not far afield from the warped perception of the so-called incel community,

Ahh yes, the label anyone that does not support Authoritarian Feminism and Gynocentric Society as an "incel"

What have we done to cause this?

Feminism, the promotion of male disposablity, and a gynocentric society that puts women ahead of men instead of equality that feminist claim to support but don't really

What can we do to stop it?

Promote true equality at home, work and in education. Eliminate all gender specific education programs, family assistance programs, and other programs. Eliminate no fault divorce, Make Joint 50/50 Custody with no support payments the standard, and about 100 other things

[+]AEHIILRS1 points 6 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

eliminate no fault divorce

I don't think "no fault" is the problem, per se, rather it's that many of the judicial and cultural norms and expectations around divorce are leftover from the "at fault" era.

If your spouse was "at fault" in some way, it made sense for the courts to award you more than your fair share of the marital assets to compensate for the wrongs done to you. It's the same as if you were in a business partnership that was dissolved due to malfeasance of the other partner: you can justify deviation from best-practices by claiming recovery of damages or disproportionate assignment of liability.

But that's not the case in a "no fault" settlements.

[–]SirYouAreIncorrect 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

your fair share

lol that is a loaded code word.. "Fair Share"....

It's the same as if you were in a business partnership that was dissolved due to malfeasance of the other partner: you can justify deviation from best-practices by claiming recovery of damages or disproportionate assignment of liability.

As it should be, and it should be with divorce as well

Infact I would prefer to do away with the entire concept of marriage and instead force people to structure their interpersonal partnership in a simlar manner as one would structure a business partnership with a contract that is executed and the terms of contract can not be changed with out the permission of all parties.

Unlike marriage where the government creates the rules, and changes the rules all the time retroactively

As far as "no Fault" the no fault system has been used by a large number of women who cheat on their husbands as a method to get 50% of all assets, alimony, and child support even though their actions destroyed the marriage. Is that their "Fair Share"

Further 80% of all divorces are filed by women citing "no fault irreconcilable differences" then proceed to get get 50% of all assets, alimony, and child support, while the man has to get by on less than poverty levels of income, with no retirement, and no assets. Cant get on any kind of welfare because Alimony and Child Support garnishments are not deducted from means tests for the purposes of Food Stamps, and other welfare...

So yes no fault is the problem

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Eliminate all gender specific education programs

I disagree, i think boys and girls learn differently.

[–]Dealric 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Id assume he means all the programms that are limited to women/girls only.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Isn’t he referring to “women’s studies.” Like it should in the future explore the discourse of historical gender dichotomy as a multiperspective.

[–]ViralInfectious 14 points15 points16 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why are young men so angry? Good question. Shall we study the last 30 years of "women's rights" while men are literally transferred to less than equal citizen status solely for existing as humans with 'xy' instead of 'xx' ?

[–]Lethn 13 points14 points15 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

To that point, some readers blamed women: feminists, women who choose work over devoting themselves as wives and mothers, single mothers for not providing male role models. This is not far afield from the warped perception of the so-called incel community, those young men who blame the other sex for their involuntary celibate status.

And right away I know exactly what this article is going to be about, declaring that any criticism of Feminist ideology is an attack on the female gender itself. Never ever give these people any ground I already saw it when glancing over some of the reader comments. Some of the points were perfectly reasonable but they kept on giving credibility to feminist whining and accusations towards men in general by going "Oh I don't agree with what these men have done at all"

In the eyes of a feminist fanatic, that is an admission of guilt, you can never disassociate yourself with what your 'gender' has done either in the past or what they do currently. As a man, you're supposed to hate yourself and blame yourself for what other men have done in life.

I can't stress this enough everybody, stop trying to appease feminists, they are lunatics who hate you and you cannot win that way especially if you dare disagree with them. Notice as well how whenever these posts crop up with mainstream media ranting about how bad men are generally the concern trolls we get are nowhere to be found, same goes for any serious topics this article is interesting though because it demonstrates the exact sort of mentality I talk about constantly here.

It never ceases to amaze me....

"Let's talk together, with everyone except young men, about why young men are angry. Then we can tell them why they are angry, and why their anger is illegitimate, because it is clear that we know, better than young men, what they are thinking and why they are thinking it."

The pig ignorant arrogance of people amazes me.

Throughout all of history, "Young Men" have always been seen as a "problem"... The problem of Youth, blah, blah, blah. No one ever considers the possibility that it is not the young men that are the problem, but the actual problem is that everyone considers young men a problem.

A year or two later the world will have changed for the better...why?... because the "problem" young men made changes that everyone else did not understand until two or three years later, then all that the young men did that was problematic, is now the de rigeur way to be...

Hippies, Beatniks, Punks etc... all started as Angry Young Men.

Why are young men so angry.

Because their primary childhood role model for conflict resolution and emotional regulation was an irresponsible and selfish single mother.

Because during the period of their lives when they had the neural plasticity to lay down healthy coping mechanisms, they were instead heavily drugged into compliance and are now permanently emotionally disabled.

Because constantly telling someone they're angry prompts them to examine their lives and discover they have legitimate grievances.

All of the above.

[–]MustNotFfff 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You just described my adolescence. The formative years of a man's life.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Just look at the featured headlines at the side. "And young men continue to be America's greatest threat." I'd be fucking livid if you said that to my face and then act dumb about why I'm angry.

[–]orangeLILpumpkin 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I've always said that no one can really know what it is like to live someone else's life. And in particular, we can't know what it is really like to live as the other gender. But I feel like that disconnection is much stronger with women thinking they know how men live than vice-versa.

I think men can appreciate the challenges that women face. Even if some of their fears are irrational, I think we can all appreciate that, irrational or not, fear is real and it sucks to have to deal with it. Whether it's walking to the parking garage after work, walking down the streets of NYC, going to a club on a Friday night or a fist meeting with your Bumble date. Women experience fear and apprehension in those situations. But men can appreciate and respect that fear because we live with our own fear in similar situations.

But it doesn't seem to work the other way around. It seems that most women (and all feminists) think that men are just going through life on easy mode. That we have no fear; that we live the lives we want; that we're all happy-go-lucky simply because we're men.

Women would be shocked at how challenging life is for men - especially through middle- and high-school. That quite simply, the ratio of "kind encounters" to "cruel encounters" would be staggering to them.

There are many men/boys who simply have never had someone be genuinely kind to them before they're 20, or 30, or 40 years old or older. That in the average day, a guy may be insulted, dismissed, mocked or bullied literally dozens of times, and never hear a kind word or received a kind action from another person. Of course that makes men angry.

I think that women just have no idea that many men live that life - day in, day out. Month after month, year after year. Most "man up" and just deal with it. Some even manage to get into relationships, get married and have kids.

But that life causes a very, very, very small percentage of men to "snap". And when one of them does, those same women put that one man in the same group as all other men. That man wasn't the problem; men are the problem.

Compare that to the life the average woman lives. If they want it, they can receive kind words and positive feedback on a near-constant basis just by asking for it on social media. They can post a Tinder profile and get a self esteem boost by having dozens (or more) men show interest in them. They simply can't comprehend a life where day, after day, after day men only hear negative feedback. So of course they would never understand why men are angry.

Women would be shocked at how challenging life is for men

Norah Vincent wrote a book about this, after living a year as a man.

[–]lostapwbm 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I usually respond to this sort of low-effort bait (not OP, the author) with dismissiveness:

"I have no idea. What could any man in America possibly have to be angry about?"

But I'll take just a little nibble since it's pinned.

  1. Birthing more and more young men into broken homes

  2. Drugging boys not for genuine medical reasons to be compel compliance

  3. Overt and covert discrimination against boys (giving girls better grades than they deserve, tailoring curricula to girls, reduction/elimination of school activities beneficial to boys)

  4. Propagandizing boys that girls are superior to them

  5. Propagandizing boys that they are either agents or beneficiaries in a great global conspiracy to oppress to women (The Patriarchy) and must live in perpetual atonement for their maleness and/or whiteness.

Like I wrote, just a nibble at the bait is all I need.

[–]ThePigmanAgain 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because they have been getting crapped on all their lives? Think about it. If a man is in his twenties, ALL he has known is a culture that constantly tells him he's stupid, violent, racist, sexist, and plays too many video games! It's enough to get even Francis Of Assisi slightly miffed!

[–]giantdwarf111 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

As a high schooler myself most of my fellow males are treated like trash and the girls in my school will NEVER get in trouble no matter what.

[–]giantdwarf111 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

For example the men’s bathroom mirror was taken off and given to the girls bathroom because “men don’t care how they look” our female teachers

[–]rabel111 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

An unusally honest and insightful collection of opinions about why young men are angry. The author almost had my support, until she said this

"To that point, some readers blamed women: feminists, women who choose work over devoting themselves as wives and mothers, single mothers for not providing male role models."

Clearly she can only see these comments, and this tragedy thru her feminist lens, where women are the victims, and feminism the heroic defender.

[–]FeedMeMore22778534[🍰] 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

What a load of crap.

[–]xNOM 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Disagree. I think it's spot on.

In fact, most of these readers believe that what we’re seeing today, with alarming regularity, is a result of a decades-long erosion — in education, in popular culture, in the family and the workplace and society at large — in the way we now raise and regard boys and young men.

The "crisis in masculinity" is that there isn't enough masculinity.

[–]mgtow-zen 11 points12 points13 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

It scares me to hear people suggest this because the "cure" will invariably be more feminism, psychology and education in helping boys rid themselves of their toxic masculinity.

We would be insane to turn to the very systems that created the problem to solve the problem. They've helped enough already. Yet this is EXACTLY what the so-called "experts" would be most likely to suggest. It's idiotic.

There's also a crisis in girls looming, I'm sure they too are affected by all this. Having to live in constant, never ending fear that they will be raped, even though their conscious mind tells them this is irrational could not possibly be healthy.

But I only mention it because it really does affect everyone.

[–]MRA-automatron-2kb 7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

never ending fear that they will be raped

Women have always had this fear or fantasy projection.

[–]goodmod 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Now feminists have turned it into an item of faith.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The crisis is well underway. Women have serious mental health issues now, like 1 in 4? Its only going to get worse

1 in 4 goddamn you’re generous.

[–]xNOM 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No, the cure is to stop prosecuting men for being masculine.

[–]SirYouAreIncorrect 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Clearly you stopped right there and did not continue reading

[–]xNOM 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's a summary of readers' reactions to a previous article. There were a variety of responses, not all of which were "a load of crap."
