Am I the only one who noticed that... of all of the complaints about anything anyone said in the comment thread under the image of the tattoo in the post linked to here... none of the complaints about various ways the tat was called sexy came from the tat-post's OP?

This entire situation is manufactured. It's one thing for a woman to say, hey, don't call me sexy because it makes me uncomfortable. This is basically SRS butting in to a conversation about body art (part if which is done to be sexy, or you wouldn't put it on your boobs) and making it about sex issues.

However, to answer your question, no and yes. No, you're not wrong that sexy =/= demeaning in reality. The thing to understand is that you're dealing with generations of women who have been wrongfully conditioned by other women to believe that anything remotely related to the act of noticing the human aesthetics of a woman is somehow an attack. It's not right that this has become the way things are, but it's the reality that you are living in as a man. Many, many women don't have any concept of the difference between saying "that is sexy" and giving their breasts an unsolicited squeeze, and will therefore respond to the former as if you did the latter. It's ridiculous, but that's how it is.

You are not. She posted a picture of a tattoo across her chest and got several very tame responses that said it looked sexy. Is that what the person was complaining about? Because, just a few comments down is a post with a guy with the same tattoo and the first response is "wood bang."

I will agree that it sucks that women can't post their image here without a bunch of ten year olds shouting "tits or gtfo" but those comments get downvoted in a matter of seconds. And, comments that say "you're beautiful" or "the tattoo looks sexy, great job" should not be seen as offensive. It's idiotic to think that they are.

If you're sexualizing me with no consent, expect to have your dick/etc punched.

The internet has this very annoying thing where it will see a picture or video of a woman, and many people will decide to comment on how sexy the woman in question is.

Even though it probably has nothing to do with what the video/picture was about.

This is demeaning, it's distilling people down to one quality and judging them based on that, rather than what they are actually asking you to judge.

A woman in a drawing class I had years ago had the same exact tattoo. Is it popular for women to get an octopus across the shoulder?

Anyway, Sometimes women don't actually want to be sexualized. I believe she was showing off her tattoo, for the purpose of showing off the tattoo.

I don't think being told that it's not always appropriate to comment on someones looks is arguable. I certainly wouldn't add it to the list of Mens rights issues. "We demand to be allowed to tell a girl she's hot". Whatever.

I kinda think it's bizarre that you linked it here. I know it aligns with the whole "Assuming men are perverted rapists" thing but I don't think it's an issue. It's not like the world will suffer due to lack of "tits or gtfo" comments. It's pretty easy: just keep it to yourself.
