Hello! I was hoping for tips on changing my mindset around femininity.

One of my biggest issues is getting angry when I feel dismissed or like I’m being patronized. Unfortunately, I think I’ve associated being girly with people not taking me seriously. Part of that stems from my hobbies (I do Muay Thai, not a feminine-friendly environment), and part of that is from school and family, where I got positive reinforcement from acting like ‘one of the guys’.

I love being treated like a girl in relationships and I feel like I’ve gotten good at acting the part (I think), but at the same time I subconsciously resent being treated like a girl.

I don’t know how to fix this. I want to be cherished and cared for the way I see women being cared for, but I also want to be taken seriously. Does anybody have any advice for changing my mindset or view of femininity as a weakness? Logically I know it isn’t, but it doesn’t feel that way to me.

Edit: I want to be clear, I’m not at all trying to say femininity is a bad thing. I’m just really struggling to overcome my internal block, which I really want to do, so I can have the kind of positive relationship that I dream of. Thank you for your help!
