glad you took my advice and came over to this place!

/r/seduction stopped being helpful to anyone with some actual game long ago. now it's only good for complete beginners and virgins to read, but not for long.

but just because i got good at picking-up girls doesn't mean i want to stop reading theory and discussions on it. this is where the red pill comes in for me, none of the white-knight and beta population infesting seduction, along with all the circlejerking with it.

[–]DEVi4TION 4 points5 points6 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You know what after reading your comment here. Good. Good, leave seddit alone. Somebody needs to keep up with the noobies. Do you expect them to just understand redpill? 3 years ago I didn't. But I was learning game and that was an awesome, important phase.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is a good point, a lot of people over there probably don't have the right experience to truly understand a lot of what OP talked about in his original article.

Considering a good 40% of them are just keyboard jockeys anyway.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Honestly, Seddit (and most of reddit for that matter) has become inhabited by high school aged, self proclaimed geniuses that perpetuate their own ignorance by lavishing in their life wisdom (lack there of) with one another.

I unsubbed from seddit months ago because it has just gotten so watered down and ridiculous, reminds me a lot of the default subreddits.

...I mean like they said, clearly you are just butthurt, clearly you don't know anything about women...amiriteguys?

[–]telnet_reddit_80 11 points12 points13 points 13 years ago* (6 children) | Copy Link

I don't know. I, too, would prefer to live in a society consisting of good looking people rather than readers... so... yay, evolution?

You're spot on with the mantra, though,

On Reddit, the only thing these guys want to hear are the same, tired, marketing hooplah. Like:
Looks don’t matter
Money doesn’t matter
Muscles don’t matter
Women are all great people

and reddit mechanics

I know this because I’ve tested headlines for the last year. Most Redditors don’t even read an article, they just browse the headline and up or downvote based on their emotional reaction. So anything that doesn’t conform to their worldview gets downvoted.

You should share the spreadsheet!

[–]iamme2 17 points17 points17 points 13 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

While the mantra is true I sympathize since if you're longing for meaningful relationships or even sex with the opposite sex how do you easily accept;

  • If you're not already naturally on the pussy getting side chances are it will be extremely hard to make yourself sexually attractive.
  • Women [or people if you want to be PC] don't care about substance but just the presentation and reward.
  • Women believe better men used to be or are within their reach and chances are will not truly[!] appreciate you.
  • Women most likely have better [fun] experiences with other men [flings, etc.] and will always hold it against you to a degree for being subpar.
  • Women have no problem offloading responsibility and blame onto you anytime something is imperfect, subpar or undesirable.
  • Plenty women do not experience true loneliness or anything considered "work/effort" to achieve rewards with the opposite sex and a lot of other "common male problems" so their ability to feel true empathy and compassion for your struggle are almost non existent.
  • Women feel more bitter about not getting the best man than most men feel bitter about women in general.
  • Most women have plenty more social networks available and easily accessible to them than you because they're a woman.
  • Women have a tremendous amount of sympathizers and ass kissers for any problem.
  • Women have no problem twisting logic and reality to suit the validity of their choices.
  • Women have no problem lying or manipulating from day 1 at least infrequently [to be nice] and chances are you've been a victim many, many times.
  • "Fairness" is not something many women gives a shit about when it comes to you unless you're already on their good side.

Yay generalizations but all I've found true to a degree and the list can probably be expanded plenty. All in all if a "chump" truly sees that he will either be taken advantage of or appreciated to the smallest degree then living in a fantasy world sounds much better than being in a reality.

Sorry, I was feeling a little bitter.

their ability to feel true empathy and compassion for your struggle are almost non existent.

Fixed.

Jesus Christ this is the truth.

[–]Hoodwink -1 points0 points1 point 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

To be fair, a lot of this could be applied to other men. The root main problem is that there will be negative feedback for men while women will get support.

[–]MrADHD7 points8 points9 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Red pill is going to become seddit, categorizing everything and giving others "status" was the catalyst , now its the same cycle of shit on here too. Different shit but same cycle.

RP is rooted in simply guys not subscribing nor giving a fuck, now we're slowly creating a self validating loop..

[–]TonyDAbsolute[S] 7 points8 points9 points 13 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I want to make clear, I don't believe you need big muscles to attract hot women. I'm just saying, it wouldn't hurt. I don't have big muscles and I've banged lots of hot women. Not all of them were supermodels by any means, but definite head turners. But the next time you see a big guy walk by with a ten, realize, it's because he is big.

What can you do about it? How do you get the hottest girls? You learn pickup, develop your charm. You start a small business, or start a band, or write a great book, or do anything to increase your status.

On top of that, improve your looks, your style, your muscles.

If you do all of this, you will be with the hottest girls in North America.

[–]mrpoopistan 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The muscle thing seems to be impossible to explain to people. Women like a man with a good physique, not gigantic muscles.

Guys of course look at things through a filter of masculine competition and that causes them to think they need to look like a bodybuilder, even though women are constantly drooling over guys who are more like 6' tall and about 180lbs. Think Ryan Gosling, not Arnold Schwarzenegger.

[–]brosephthebroengine 7 points8 points9 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

While I agree that you don't need to look like Arnie in his prime, I want to add that despite of what everyone is saying I have yet to meet a gigantic bro (even mass monster) who WEREN'T the center of female attention. the amount of times I have heard variations of "well I don't usually like men big like you buuut.." at the bar next to the local hardcore gym... it isn't even funny anymore.

[–]mrpoopistan -1 points0 points1 point 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Gotta be honest. I've never really seen it. But, I only know one bar that's next to a gym and both places are shitholes where I'd be worried more about getting tetanus than any female attention.

[–]TonyDAbsolute[S] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes. I don't mean you need to be a body builder. But being in great shape will always help. I have to get on that, to be honest.

[–]Are_You_A_Real_Man8 points9 points10 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

SethMemVegas:

I don't agree with if you want a woman you need to "work your ass off in the gym, or make tons of money". Obviously, these will up your chances but aren't necessary requirements.

Aside from contradicting himself in the next line, this fellow demonstrates that he understands little about the fundamentals of attraction.

Money = potential resource providing to a woman (so more like an attractive beta trait).

Muscular physique = physical power and is a tangible marker of alphadom

Getting both of these things in line will take you much further than all of the seddit inner game in the world.

You don't build confidence by repeating positive mantras to yourself.

You build it by going out, trying to pick up a bunch of chicks and failing a ton of times. Eventually, you will succeed.

It's perseverance that is needed, not positivity.

[–]zionController 7 points8 points9 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

100% agree.

And what man isn't trying to get a little more money, or a little more muscular? No, not necessary, there are always horny women looking to make some mistakes, but it certainly increases your value. Take a man. Add money. Add muscle. Does he have more, less, or no change in value. Clearly more. Game is is the great equalizer, giving betas a strong chance at landing women but there are other factors involved in attraction.

You don't build confidence by repeating positive mantras to yourself.

At least not permanently. Although I used to have mantras when I would sarge alone at first. Helpful for getting in state.

You build it by going out, trying to pick up a bunch of chicks and failing a ton of times. Eventually, you will succeed.

After you've failed 500 times, you become completely indifferent to failure. After a certain amount of f-closes, even sex can be indifferent.

Perseverance is the master key. A small dose of positivity for good measure, but a lot of perseverance.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yep. Take those stereotypical, bland straight-A kids and how they react when they get their first B- (in college) that they've worked so hard for.

Now, if that kid had gone to a hard high school or had failed or been kicked out before, he'd take the B- with more grace. He'd understand that irrespective of the amount of work he's put in, sometimes, just working hard isn't enough. He'd perhaps consider it as an opportunity to learn more, depending on his own personality traits.

Make it easier on yourself* - get unplugged now. At least, that's my opinion. I can only extrapolate how I would've felt if I were to have started the "unplugging" ten years from now, after 2-3 failed LTRs where I was an insufferable beta.

*not "you", just a hypothetical beta

Bwahha, add in people that spam ask seddit with "Just BE AWESOME and DO IT!" advice and you got it.

[+]ChemicalRascal -10 points-9 points-8 points 13 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

It's not that you infuriate us ('cause you don't, you lightly annoyed us) - It's more that you have a really shitty outlook, and you also failed to actually teach anything of value at all.

I could go through your "Reddit is a Haven for Trolls" post and rebut each point, if you'd like, to demonstrate this, but I only want to do this if you're interested in it - If you're going to dismiss the challenge, there's no point.

So, what of it? You ready to Rumble in the Debate Jungle, have ourselves a bit of an in-te-lectual brawl?

[–]TonyDAbsolute[S] 3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

You're entitled to your voice. I don't mind if you want to spend your afternoon writing about my annoying blog post.

It baffles me that people are saying they learned nothing from the post. It's not like I don't believe in pickup. I love rsd, I pickup hot women, I teach it for a living. And not on a blog. Almost every weekend, I'm out in bars, malls and street corners running cold approach bootcamps.

The post was just a highlight of my frustrations that I felt many guys could relate to. I fully endorse positive thought and cold approaching. But I'm not going to lie to the world that there isn't something fundamentally flawed in a society where good guys have to hit on hundreds of women to get a date.

I am very good at cold approaching, but it sucks. That's why I'm spending the next five years increasing my status, so they come to me. Pickup is a skillset, not a lifestyle. That's all I'm trying to say. Well, that and lots of things.

[+]ChemicalRascal -6 points-5 points-4 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I know, thank you, I'm glad that you've acknowledged my free speech in this situation, but I'm not interested in sitting down and essaying at you here - I'm more interested in conversing with you, with a back-and-forth exchange that incrementally works it's way through your content.

My problem is that I have a fairly full day today (Australia, so it's actually mid-morning) - I have to go buy some camera gear, have a coffee with someone, catch up on a bunch of studies, bust my ass revising more studies, there's a dinner event - so I don't want to put time into this unless I know you're gonna actually consider what I'm saying.

So, what's the go? Are we gonna do this, or just part ways, like ships in the night or whatever the simile is?

[–]TonyDAbsolute[S] 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Its cool man. I appreciate it. I'm pretty busy. I'm launching a book in ten days. I'll have plenty of discussion by after that. Fuck.

[–]ChemicalRascal -1 points0 points1 point 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh! Congratulations. I'm not sure what the random "Fuck." after all of that was for, but okay, perhaps another time.

[–]Are_You_A_Real_Man1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

How is a post that is being realistic treated as being a "shitty outlook"? He is perfectly on target with his assessment of the general hot American woman.

You just don't want to hear that improving your attractiveness to women takes a ton of hard work, much more than repeating some self-help mantras and working on inner game.

Pro tip: Inner game flows naturally from external accomplishments.

[+]ChemicalRascal -6 points-5 points-4 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

My quarrel isn't with you, it's okay, don't mind me.

[–]telnet_reddit_80 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I could go through your "Reddit is a Haven for Trolls" post and rebut each point, if you'd like

Don't know about OP but I'd like to see that because I think he's spot on.

[–]ChemicalRascal -3 points-2 points-1 points 13 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like TDA has the time for it, but whatever.

[–]TonyDAbsolute[S] 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I have the time for public discourse, but not for private conversation. The fuck just means I'm about to enter the public sphere and it's a load to think about. Exciting though.

[–]ChemicalRascal -2 points-1 points0 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Oh! Well, I have no problem having this conversation in public. That's a non-issue. (Though the amount of downvotes I'm getting in this subreddit may limit the frequency of my replies.)

Unless you mean that you don't have time to engage on a one-on-one conversation, even in public? Which is reasonable, I suppose.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The reason you're getting downvotes is because everyone of your comments essentially boils down to 'let's have a conversation'. Instead of talking about talking just start the damn conversation. You've added absolutely nothing to the discourse apart from telling us about buying some camera gear that no body gives a shit about.

[–]ChemicalRascal 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I can't see the point in starting a conversation unless I know it's going to be actually read and considered by TDA. I mean, my goal is to convince TDA that seddit isn't full of crybabies or whatever - If I can't confirm that we can have a reasonable discourse, with both parties listening to each other and considering each side's arguments, there's no way I can achieve my goal, and so I won't waste my time.

I really don't think the majority of the downvotes are for that, though - Given the typical way the Reddit hiveminds work, the majority is probably closer to "Hey, this fag disagrees with the basic contention of the subreddit!" *bitchslap*

[–]TonyDAbsolute[S] 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Haha. I understand. Of course I would talk in public. I do have time throughout the day to chat, I just should be doing work.

If you're serious about engaging in the discussion here:

  1. Read, don't skim, the side bar. Try to understand what the writers are communicating and avoid getting caught up in your emotional responses to their messages.

  2. Come back and ask for clarification on topics that you do not fully understand. Avoid thought terminating cliches and emotionally charged, meaningless jargon, i.e., "I dunno guys, this stuff all sounds creepy and misogynist to me."

  3. If you do not agree with a particular popular stance, clearly and specifically state why you do not agree. Make liberal use of direct quotes and supporting evidences. Solid logic and reasoning is king 'round these parts. Anecdotes can be a helpful supplement to an argument, but are woefully poor as the crux.

  4. Refrain from ad hominem arguments, straw manning, and other forms of obfuscation and argument reframing.

TL;DR: this is a very pessimistic subreddit centered around these two points:

drawing your own conclusions instead of listening to what you are told.

and

the world is not the way it works in Disney films

I like the whole "red pill versus blue pill" thing though. It's supposed to make outsiders feel like sheeple who haven't been unplugged from the Matrix (subscribers are even labeled "unplugged"), and anyone who subscribes to this sub feel like they know everything about how the world works. They are "in the know."
