Usually the closure I've been asked for is one last bang. I learned the hard way... NEVER give them one more bang after they've broken up with you.

However, it's kind of hard to keep it in your pants if your ex is basically throwing herself at you, which is why I'm a strong advocate of 100% communication break.

I delete her from everywhere, including her phone number off my cellphone.

"Closure" coming from your ex usually amounts to a post-hoc rationalization for why they weren't attracted to you anymore.

I don't even think this particular phenomenon is limited to women. I don't think people, in general, are actually equipped to know why their own relationships have failed.

The proper response to a break-up is to seek self-improvement, which you should have been doing anyway.

It is amazing to me how this resonates with other kinds of relationships, like sales or marketing. I used to work for a private school. A family leaving the school would almost never tell you why they were really leaving. They would tell you whatever it was that you couldn't fix immediately. The truth is that they often went to a school that also lacked whatever feature they told me at the exit interview. This is great information to possess when entering any kind of relationship - be it personal or business. Thanks to the poster for linking it.

Wisdom, her breaking up with you is almost a shit test of its own so you should respond accordingly. You never get riled up and emotional over a shit test. An alpha wouldn't even care if one of his girls broke it off, plenty more where that came from. Play it cool and there's a good chance she'll even come running back.

I realized this one before I was in my mid 20's. I was never successful at getting my friends to realize this. They just had to know why. It was aggravating as hell.
