Lets face it: our society is a mess. Part of that mess stems from the overarching propaganda and emotional manipulation which bombards the average person each and every day. These propaganda pieces attempt to enforce laws and standards on our society, which are un-codified and occasionally are in direct opposition to codified laws and reason. Like many other unjust traits of society, these laws grew from institutions, which served as needed forces for change. As red-pill men, we choose to heed the mantra of Captain Nemo, and eschew this society as unrealistic and unjust. As such, it is necessary to use our discernment to identify the propaganda, and disconnect ourselves from it.

Our society is filled with propaganda. Be it from a major news outlet, or a slanted blogger. The most transparent of these is advertising. It’s difficult to gauge the effectiveness of advertising, as both its creation and target are mired in emotion rather than objective facts. Take, for instance, the recent Ford Ecoboost technology that their ads are harping on about. Obviously they are advertising this new and exciting green technology, as touted by the green leaf in the Ecoboost logo. By now you should smell a rat. What Ecoboost really consists of are single or twin turbochargers paired with a much smaller engine. On paper it yields higher fuel economy, however the real world results show that the fuel economy is on parity at best, or actually drops. The kicker is that the green advertising is duping people into buying the Ecoboost vehicles with “green” engines that have the same or poorer gas mileage than the same model without Ecoboost for a higher price tag. Any advertiser is going to hype their product, how does this impact society you may ask?

As with the Ecoboost scenario described above, most propaganda glosses over facts and appeals to emotions. Some are far more insidious than just selling you a car for more money, however. Enter one of the hot topics at the moment: Rape culture. Propaganda has shaped opinion such that even getting accused of rape is now almost a crime, and can be a death sentence. Consider the UVA rape allegations. Even though the allegations are false, the fraternity in question was threatened, bricked, and defaced. Since the allegations have proven to be false the frat has not received an apology from the university, which had immediately suspended the frat. So the societal rule that has been put in place is that all men will rape, given the chance and that women can’t lie about rape. The media is out to sell their agenda and get paid to do so. They have moved society move from rational fact towards one of emotions first. This allows for a consumer who is more easily manipulated, and has given rise to the like of the SJW.

Most social movements start with a basic premise that everyone can get behind, and appears to be good. Some members may rise to prominence and become minor celebrities for championing their cause du jour. Once they have achieved their goals, the leadership, which achieved prominence, will usually not let go of the goose that laid the golden egg. At some point these movements begin to fabricate new things to fight. A nebulous goal can’t be achieved, and therefore can be pursued forever with no actual progress needed. It can be argued that feminism originally began as the women’s vote movement, which is a venerable goal. It has ‘progressed’ to manspreading on the subway since then. So how does the red pill man handle this kind of brainwashing?

In the words of Captain Nemo: “I am not what is called a "civilized man", Professor. I have done with society for reasons that seem good to me. Therefore I do not obey its laws.” To digress for a moment, I’m not saying that redpillers should join the sovereign citizens. The laws in question are clearly the social norms artificially enforced via propaganda. The basic rule is to regard almost everything as an attempt to manipulate you unless you have researched it a bit further. As a red pill man let’s examine the Ecoboost issue again. The symbol for Ecoboost is a green leaf. The logo is green. What does green in that context bring to mind? Trees. It tugs at the heartstrings and that should put the red pill man on alert. Most propaganda attempts to elicit an emotional response that overwhelms the rational response. A red pill man should be able to contain his emotions and let the rational creature rule.

The anti red pill male is the Social Justice Warrior. This crew is pretty much the perfect product of our current society: Plugged in and emotional rather than logical. Of note, they will reject logic and facts out of hand, preferring to give in to emotion. These are the people that bricked, tagged, and intimidated the UVA frat’s members without any idea of what was going on, other than the media’s assertion that they should be outraged. These are the proverbial peasants with pitchforks and torches. Unfortunately they are majority; fortunately they are so plugged in that they spend most of their days in front of the television or laptop. It follows that a person is smart; people are stupid. Therefore the formula for an SJW is Ignorance + mob = SJW. So how does a redpill man avoid this trap?

Red pill men should first strive to maintain the frame that is keeping their emotional response in check. Second a red pill man should use rational analysis to discern attempts to manipulate them. This not only applies to media, but also to relationships and life in general. If you ask questions, does the picture become clearer or more convoluted? Is outside verification encouraged? Propaganda hates being fact checked. Do you see many petty distinctions being made? Be warned that asking questions can be unpleasant at times. Third, unplug all of the media in your life. How much time do you waste on the TV, video games, or internet each week? If you unplugged would you be bored or would you be able to find something to do? Unplug and you may start to find the real you, not just the media manufactured shell.

So use your newfound freedom, and do something great with yourself.
