I dated a girl for a few weeks about a month ago. Last week I just started feeling awful. Night sweats, super high fevers, sore throat.

Doctors took some blood and concluded I had mono. If you don't know anything about mono here's a quick rundown. Young adults catch it from saliva. It takes 4 to 6 weeks before it shows. There's nothing doctors can do and it takes anywhere from weeks to months to go away. But you will always carry the virus for life.

I've missed two weeks of work now and it's been an overall miserable experience. I do not get sick days or any sort of vacation so I'm kinda fucked.

Best case scenario is they lay me off and I collect unemployment. I work for a union so that would be just fine.

I close on a house next week to make things better. Luckily I've saved up several thousand dollars which I spend carefully. Mostly gas and about 1 meal a day since it's extremely painful to eat.

There's really no point to this post other than a much needed vent and you guys are great for that.
