TL;DR:

Properly accepting rejection can produce great results.

Theory

While I completely agree with post from u/kez88: "Don't wait for IOI's, and don't give place too much importance on them" - that post needs a disclaimer. When you do get rejected, own it and leave before it's too late. I've seen plenty of self-called PUAs making a girl uncomfortable and not knowing when it's over, pushing past her politely declining him and then being bitchy and butthurt after receiving a rude rejection. Learning how to get rejected is a skill that needs practice, like every other social skill. Properly accepting rejection can actually produce some really fine results.

FR from last week:

Me and couple of friends were at an outdoor concert, lots of girls, but also families. A type of concert for all generations. I approach a girl. The whole conversation lasted about 15 seconds, so everything went pretty fast:

Me: "Hey, what's your name?"
Her: "Not your business."
Me: "Cool"
I calmly sip my beer with a smirk that says: "Oh, how cute, you rejected me." I turn my look to next target through her like she was invisible.
Her: "Look, I'm sorry, but I would really like to enjoy the concert. I don't feel like talking to other people."
I know exactly what you're doing. You were hoping I would get all bummed down and cry in the corner now.
Me: "I completely understand you." - with my eyes on next target, like she is interrupting me now.
Her: “No, really, I'm sorry, but I'm here with my friend and we just want to have fun.”
Me: "Hey, It's fine, You don't need to apologize." - looking past her, smirk, having fun hearing her hamster trying to figure out what's going on.
Her: "I'm not apologizing, I'm just saying I'm not interested in meeting new people".
Me: "Hey, it's OK, don't worry. There is no need for you to explain yourself. It's all great. Let's enjoy the concert, huh?" - mildly interested in her rationalizations, but focusing on other people and my friends around.
Her: "My name is Katie."
Me: "Oh, how nice of you to tell me your name. You didn't have to, but you did it anyway. Bravo."
She is almost annoyed that I accepted her rejection, but we're both smiling. She has the “I can't believe you took that so well" smile and I have that "Got ya, bitch" smirk. We exchange couple of more words, then I break the conversation, reminding her about focusing on a concert and a wink.

I then proceeded to enjoy the concert, interacting with my friends and everybody around our area. Danced with every female around me from ages 14 to 65, while Katie was trying real hard to enjoy the concert with me and my friends owning the area. After the concert was over she and her friend stand next to us and ask:
"So, where are we going now?". Went clubbing, made out.

Lessons: This is where 90% of guys fail. They act insulted, they try to explain that they actually don't want anything, they apologize for interrupting, overreact, overexplain etc. Don't. Accept rejection like a random passby-er didn't say "hi". You don't even have to turn around and walk away, just do what you were doing before. You are uninterrupted by rejection.

Accept rejection and make fun of it. Laugh at it. It's all just a game. You will like the results.
