Summary: 2 female friends demonstrated AWALT when coworker Chad came up in conversation.

I witnessed an excellent example of AWALT on Saturday evening while hanging out with my wife and several friends. The group consisted of my wife and I, an engaged couple, and a single girl all ranging from late-20’s to early-30’s in age.

At one point during the evening my guy friend’s coworker came up in conversation. Let’s call him Chad--see where this is going? I’ve met Chad once. Chad is a pretty buff dude and clearly works out a lot. I can’t remember the details of how he came up in conversation, but it was remarked that he looks like he hits the gym a lot. That is where the fun began:

Girl #1 (engaged to my friend) remarks, “I wouldn’t mind seeing Chad without a shirt on.”

Girl #2 (single) agrees but makes a remark about how he has a tribal tattoo which is a no-go for her.

I’m having fun at this point witnessing TRP in live action, so I decided to stir the pot and prodded girl #2, “So you would have found him oh so dreamy when you were 23?” She begrudgingly acknowledged knowing that I had just called her out.

During this entire conversation my wife was silent and didn’t make any remarks about Chad. And even if she did, I would not have sweat it--I am not intimidated by Chad because I lift regularly and maintain a lean & muscular physique that my wife is a big fan of. This particular Chad is objectively bigger and stronger than I am, but that doesn’t bug me. I stay as fit as I can to make sure that my wife gets her muscly thrills at home. There will always a bigger/buffer/badder Chad out there than you.

If I were my my buddy who is engaged to Girl #1, then I'd take her comment as a very subtle hint that I need to get my ass to the gym and hit the weights. One could construe the comment--which was made directly in front of him--as a type of shit test.

The conversation was short, but I found it quite amusing to see TRP/AWALT in action. Neither of these two girls are CC riders to the best of my knowledge, and my old BP-programmed self would have claimed would not be attracted to a guy like Chad. Nonsense. Even in their post-prime years, they would likely spread their legs for Chad in the right circumstances.

Lessons Learned:

  • AWALT my friends. All girls will always be attracted to a muscly Chad.
  • There will always be a bigger/badder/more buff Chad than you out there. Just accept it and focus on being the best that you can be.
  • Lift, be confident, and be your plate/LTR/wife's Chad. There is no foolproof defense against AWALT, but if your girl is getting her muscly thrills from you in the bedroom, then that at least provides some buffer against the threat of her running off with Chad.
