(This post serves to help anyone who is spinning their wheels thinking "what is my purpose" to hopefully inspire and motivate them to move forward and clear their mind of bullshit.)
What is a mission?
What is a purpose?
Is it something we are called to do?
By who? God? Ourselves? The "universe"?
What does it mean to "find your purpose"?
Will you know when you've found it?
What will it feel like when you do "find it"?
How would you know what that feels like?
Because of what other people say about it?
Because of some motivational speaker selling tapes? Following their "purpose" of telling you about finding your "purpose"?
Do you need to be following your "purpose" to be rich?
Do you need to be rich to be following your "purpose"?
Finding your "purpose" doesn't make any sense. What does it mean?
Is it a job you don't hate? Is it volunteering? Is it having a family? Is it starting a business? What does it mean?!
It doesn't mean anything. It is an abstract phrase for something that isn't tangible. It's no surprise that you have idiots (and even smart people) wandering around their whole lives wondering about their "purpose".
Would you like to put it to rest? Would you like to kill this question once and for all?
No more staying up late with an empty feeling in your chest asking the stupid question "what is my purpose?".
Does that sound nice?
We are going to replace that stupid question that doesn't mean anything with a question that is tangible in every single way.
"WHAT LIFESTYLE DO I WANT"?
Break down every detail. Every. Single. Detail. It isn't about labels. It's about the actual lifestyle.
It isn't "I'd like to be rich".
It's "I'd like to make money online in this specific niche so it allows me to naturally meet great people while I travel the world so I get to fulfill my desires of traveling and freedom without being lonely". It needs to be 1000x times more clear than even this. Details are real. A "purpose" isn't real.
It needs to be crystal clear. It can be crazy. If it isn't crazy you're probably lying to yourself.
Once it is crystal clear, work backwards.
How are you going to achieve this lifestyle? It certainly won't be traditional. You will have to get creative.
Why should you do this? Another great question.
Life isn't just a bunch of attributes. It isn't a bunch of "points" like a "create-a-player" in a video game.
"Money:100
Friendship: 30
Freedom: 90"
No, it is holistic. It is all mixed together into a thing we call a lifestyle.
Your dream lifestyle will be a reflection of your values.
Do you want the friends? Do you want the freedom? Do you want the money? Your dream lifestyle will reflect those values.
Do your values change? Stupid question. Yes, but so would your "purpose" if we are following that logic.
So now you have your dream lifestyle. It is crystal clear and it is a life that reflects your values. You now know what you really "want" out of life.
Now work backwards and create it. Use your logical and creative brain together to find the best possible route to achieving this life. Some people call this mental masturbation. Some people can shut up. We're building a life in our heads because it has to be created in our heads first.
Then go act. Go out and create that life. You might notice that your anxiety disappears. Your uncertainty might disappear too. Your hesitation will be gone. Everything you do will receive a harsh and thorough audit "is this helping me towards my dream lifestyle?" All wastes of time will naturally be tossed out. All because you actually WANTED to. Waking up early is no longer "something you wish you could do". Going to the gym is no longer "something you wish you could do".
It's just something you do because you know exactly what it means for your life. We give effort because of 1. the possible reward and 2. the odds of us getting that reward. If we don't get much or we aren't sure we'll get it, we won't work hard. If you want to motivate yourself to take massive action you need 1. a massive reward and 2. 100% belief you'll get it. This is why confidence matters and why you need to dream big. You gotta dream big to act big and you gotta be sure it's gonna work! You'll find it naturally EASY to take massive action.
All because you know what you want and that's all that matters in this world. Knowing what you want, having the damn guts to go get it and having the confidence of knowing it's GONNA WORK!
And all of a sudden that "purpose" question gets taken care of. No more wondering. Just absolute drive towards that crystal clear vision in your mind.
You might think: This seems obvious. This seems too simple.
It is obvious. It is simple. It's hard so it has to be obvious and simple. It wouldn't be possible unless is was obvious and simple.
If you are not moving in life, do this. If you feel "depressed", do this. An energy will fill you and you will feel like busting through a wall. You will feel like driving a hundred miles an hour in your car blaring your favorite music. You will feel like God himself couldn't stop you. You may suddenly become more social. You will definitely become happier and full of life.
Everything will make sense. Everything will be clear. When you start moving in a focused direction towards a focused goal, it will feel as strong as drugs. You will know true passion and what a mission really feels like.
Don't know what lifestyle you want? It's okay. You're asking the question. Better yet, it's the RIGHT question. You get answers when you ask the right questions. You couldn't get an answer to "What's my darn purpose?" because that's a stupid question. You'll never get a good answer to a stupid question like that. Only good questions get good answers and "What lifestyle do I want?" is an amazing question that will get you an amazing answer. Most people are asking the wrong questions entirely. They go to school and ask themselves the question "What should I be when I'm older?" like their identity is a job title. "I want to be a teacher". "I want to be a banker".
I wanna be me and I wanna be me 8 days a week until I die.
Your identity is not a fucking job title.
There's no such thing as a purpose so stop looking for that ghost.
There's only one thing and it's called life. This awesome, great, beautiful thing called life and what you do with it.
It can be anything you make it and it usually is. So make it something big. Make it whatever you want but you're the one who makes it. Dream up the real life you want and go get it.
That's the only good answer you'll ever get to that stupid question:
"What is my purpose?"
