Nah. If he really really hated himself he would have absorbed the dogma that the most dangerous men to women are the ones they know and trust, and he wouldn't claim to be safe either. Seriously committed pro-feminist men actually say they are dangerous and that any man who claims to be safe is a counter-revolutionary because even if it's true it hurts women by encouraging them to trust men.

I do have to offer an alternate take on cis men who become radical feminists. Not all of them do it fro self flagellation. Plenty of them do it because it give them a socially acceptable method of punching down on people lower than them without any impunity, so they're not "weak", they're actually sadistic.

I know someone like this in real life I met at a local advocacy group…. (I did mention about him in another post on this subreddit a few months ago)
He keeps talking and concerned about women’s safety in western world and whole world and thinks that all women are facing femicide…
And he never takes care of his own mental health and wants to sacrifice himself by going lots of workshops and events by many advocating groups and organizations, everyday non stop…
I am not against left wing advocacy, but doing something too much to cause harm to your own health is kinda toxic tbh..

It’s a very Machiavellian behavior
Let’s say that you are a man and you distrust other men and want to compete with them. Then it is in your interest to start leveraging other people’s interests and do some creative bargaining to go after men of all backgrounds except your own.
I see this happen especially in conservative spaces and it’s starting to have some concerning influence on moderates/liberals who are already on edge when it comes to hot-button topics. All of a sudden conservative men “understand” feminists but only when it comes to trans folks, jews, Indians, blacks, etc. BUT NEVER WHITES mind you.
And conversely, for progressives, we have this weird “noble savage” insistence that all non-whites are angels and that only the white man is the devil. An example of this is the Settlers book by anonymous J. Sakai, who I hope is just a federal agent and not an actual activist.
The final and most contradictory evolution of this scapegoating is this: all men are evil, except the ones who are somehow self-aware of their evil (or at least, their inherent danger)
