There's this movie from 10 or so years ago , but I have a hard time finding it. It is called Redbelt, started Chiwetel Ejiofor and Tim Allen. Chiwetel plays a very principled martial artist who finds his honor entangled on itself and he's drawn into the orbit of some corrupt folks.

I loved the overall vibe of his character, especially his "there's always an escape" mentality. If he's in a fight, he's either aiming to escape you, build position, or assert his position to win.

It's streaming a few places but looks like it's a rental fee.
