Yeah, I agree. I don't know how "fair" it is but I wouldn't simply make someone fend for themselves if I'm the one who wants to go out. Maybe I didn't articulate what I wanted to say well enough but if I'm initiating our hangout then I would always be prepared to at minimum cover myself. I would never leave the house expecting someone to pay for my good time unless that fact was made obvious or I know the person well enough to assume it
But I am paying for some expenses. I bought my meal. I bought my ticket. If I picked you up I bought the gas and provided the transport.

You're still into blue pill conditioning. If the man promises to pay for both, then ok. If the woman feels entitled, by default, just because the man beg her to go out with him, then NO. It's not automatically assumed that he has to pay: he's asking her out, he's not promising he will pay for both. If she agrees to go out with him it must be because she is genuinely interested in him and agrees to a fair date (where everyone pays for its own meal, as it ALWAYS should be), not because he is giving her money to do so.
There is a small difference, I know, but it's very important.
