So today i went out with two friends to a bar in fort lauderdale called rhythm and vine. They had ladies night so it was crowded but nothing crazy.

For context I am 27, latino, about 5’11”, thick as i look strong but not athletic nor fat. I exercise often but have always struggled with being overweight.

We got to the bar and the anxiety of talking was there. There were groups of girls around us so first we went to the bar to get a beer and the just vibing on the dance floor. Night went by until a group of girls celebrating a birthday told my best friend something like “Hey its her birthday” so we started cheering her up.

My friend started talking to the girl next to him so i acted and started talking to the bday girl she could not hear me so i was like whatever but her friend saw i was drinking a corona and was like pointing at it and saying it was nice. I tried talking to her but she could not hear me either. I just told her that when she finished her drink we could have a corona

I pulled out a trick i saw in tik tok where you press the flap of the ear and guess what she could hear me and she laughed bc it worked. Conversation was brief. My friend did not talk much with the girl and the interaction died. We moved on. Sat outside and after a while the 3 of us went back inside.

After a while the same group of girls moved to where we were and the girl i talked to saw i was having another beer and was smiling and i told her do you want and she took my beer. I was thinking like damn i lost it. So i got next to her and made her chug it. She did.

I tried talking to her but the music was too loud so she asked for the notes in my phone to talk. I asked her name and after a couple messages i told her to join me outside for another beer since she finished mine. She did.

We talked outside for a while i bought her a beer. She told me she did scuba diving and i asked her if she could teach to which she said she was not licensed for it. I replied with ok lets go snorkeling then to which she said ok

I asked for her phone number to which she replied. “instagram”. I told her i dont have Ig (lie) we kept talking and she agreed to give me her number.

We went inside and her friends were in the restroom so we just hanged out for a while with my friends. She dance. We did not talk as music was too loud. Then her friends came and they went away.

I dont think i will text her as she was drunk (not that much but noticeable drunker than me). I think she wont remember me. What do you guys think?

Overall i dont feel that bad since it was not one of those nights were you just stay at the bar talking to your friends…
