I read conquer your campus and models, both had a section on giving value to those around you in order to form connections. I consider myself a friendly, helpful person, but I don't feel like I enrich anybody's life by just being around them. Does anybody have any advice/thoughts on this sort of thing?

Edit: we all know that guy that everybody is just a little happier when he walks into the room. He brightens their day just by being present. He's friendly, charismatic, and charming. I try for these traits, but I'm obviously not there yet or I wouldn't be asking this here.
