Do I think you could have done better by suggesting to hang out with her at some point? Yes.

But assuming someone new is reading this post - this is a classic example of holding the "Im the prize" mindset in a way that's light hearted and funny. A lot of guys can take this mindset too far and come off way too cocky (and push people away).

I feel you bro. Since I've developed that mentality of "I'm the prize" girls started flocking to me. Most of them I wasn't really interested in, or lost interest because of their personalities, but it was really amazing to me to say how a simple mindset change, started making girls super into me. Recently I found a girl that I really like, with an awesome personality and she was also attracted to my "devil may care" attitude and now we got a date tomorrow. Keep it up and never settle. Eventually a girl you really like will come along and see the value in you that you see in yourself.

We walk out of class, and without asking. She gave me her number! I was pretty shocked/flattered, but I didn't really care for it. I was just happy that your boy has got some moves after all.

Realize that your "moves" basically involved you getting out of your own way. She technically made the move.

People try to make it seem like men need to do everything and if it goes wrong, that it's the fault of the guy. This is incorrect AF. Stuff like this demonstrates that seduction is a team sport, and girls play roles in it that are increasingly outside of the cultural "box" they've been in historically.

How does that saying go? "Pride cometh before a fall?" Take some care, man. What you present here has two possibilities. Neither of which are "weird."

She sent that to you, and then had second thoughts, sending the other one to try to take it back.
She sent that to another guy. You said yourself, "she is like a total smoke show." Do you really believe that such a girl doesn't have any guys interacting with her, on a college campus?

Look, if the answer isn't fuck yes, or fuck no, then the answer is actually still no. If getting back to this girl at all ranks somewhere after playing video games or doing homework, then the answer is NO. You are only considering her because of what you think other people would think. That can be fun, but realize that it can be empty, also.

Lastly, you think a "girlfriend" has just presented herself. But not really. You're showing a lot of disinterest and kind of being a dick. Which is fine because you're not interested. But when her response is to double-down on her efforts to get at you, especially given that she's that attractive and girls can't even get past middle school without internalizing cultural norms like, "It's negative for girls to take initiative," and what you have here is a situation that reeks of issues. This girl probably has some baggage.

Weird, something similar happened to me, but I kinda fell into her trap eventually which was not the right choice. It just made everything awkward going forward.
