I use facebook a lot as a "seduction" method. I'd either start a chat with her (don't post on her wall- start an actual chat by just saying "what's up" or something), or when you see her in-person again, just open normally.

If you start a chat with her, what I usually do is ask about her major and shit, and within 3-4 messages I tell her I don't like facebook and get her number. Just say "give me your number," and she'll usually give it. I normally don't start any conversations without a plan for what I'm doing that weekend, or whenever. Like if I don't have a party to go to, I don't waste my time. If I do have a party to go to, I text her back and forth for like 3 messages, then invite her to the party. Then I usually leave it at that- sometimes I converse a bit more, just making jokes and shit, and leave it there.

Then let her come to the party if she wants, and if she doesn't, you can focus on other girls anyway. It's a win-win.

Leave a simple comment on something she says on FB. Later, bring it up in the hall as an opener.

Initiate a chat on FB. Talk as if you've known her awhile. One of my favorite openers is, "I think we need some time apart."/"It's just not working anymore. I think we need to break up.". The cool girls will play along, which makes things a lot easier and you can just do a whole fake breakup with them. It's a lot of fun and a great ice-breaker. Followup with normal conversation afterwards and see if you can't set something up. You'll feel comfortable talking with each other by this point and hallway chatting will come naturally. If she DOESN'T play along initially, just go ahead and kinda ignore her responses, sticking with the breakup monologue. Keep it playful and be funny about it - she'll eventually crack and open up to you. In the rare case she doesn't, well... she probably takes herself a LITTLE too seriously and wouldn't be a whole lot of fun anyway.

Invite her and her friends to a party or something, then after some small talk on the way to the party get to "know" her better at the venue. Just throwing an idea out there.
