Hey guys,

Was wondering what you thought of this opener. It stemmed out of an actual argument I was having with some guy friends when we were out at a bar.

Basically, you go up to the girl or group of girls and say you need a girls perspective on a debate you are having with your friends. The debate is over tipping etiquette. Is is better to tip a smaller amount, say .50, with every drink, or instead don't tip with each drink and give a large tip to the bartender at the end of the night. I usually take a side but argue/press them on whatever they say. For instance, one could say the tip at the end of the night will be more substantial and meaningful to the bartender, but then it doesn't benefit you at all since you already got all your drinks. There are a lot of things you can say about either option.

Depending on how that goes I also sometimes would ask the girl if she tips guy bartenders and girl bartenders differently. Usually a funny topic and you can try to call them out on things.

If the girl doesn't show much interest, I simply say thank you so much you just proved my argument, I'm gonna go tell my friends that you're on my side in an really happy/encouraging voice, and then walk away. If the girl seems receptive, I ask for her name if I haven't got it by then and direct the conversation to being about her. The ice will be broken by then.

What do you guys think...is tipping too taboo of a subject? I only got to try the opener twice and got a # close on 1 of 2 girls so sample size is low so far.
